I hope you are all monitoring the direction TS Ernesto is taking. He could make landfall mid to late week somewhere between LA/FL coast line! I for one wishes he would just be cut to shreds by wind shears but that doesn't look to be a possibility. With the anniversary of Katina (and then Rita) right around the corner, I just shudder with thoughts of Ernesto coming ashore in that area. Of course, I don't wish it on Mobile/Pensacola area as they've seen their fair share these past 2 seasons with Ivan then Dennis. Please, all my yorkie friends on the coast area, please keep your eyes on this storm and stay safe!

I stayed up half the night with Zoey watching him. I even ordered extra dog food just in case. :rolleyes:

Oh please stay safe! When Katrina hit last year, my husband and his crew with the Georgia DOT were on their way and were called back at the last minute and didn't go. He told me later that even though he dreaded what he'd see, he felt like it was the right thing to do. My oldest son just drove through New Orleans last week and he told me he'd never seen anything like it. And it's been a year!

I'll be praying for everyone in the path of Ernesto.

I don't believe in the projected pth, until the day the hurricane makes landfall. Katrina wasn't suppose to hit us last year, but she did. :mad: I'm still going to watch him 24/7. :thumbup:

Ernesto has been upgraded to a hurricane. Keep your eyes peeled fellow Gulf Coastites!:)

my boyfriend and I are going to Home Depot today just in case the hurricane does come this way. you never know until it is about to come. last year when rita was coming, we went all the way to NY. you should have seen everything we packed into our civic. I am from up there so we just had a mini vacation because our lights didn't even go out. I was so happy it didn't hit us though. That is the only bad thing about living down here! Up there you just get snowed in for a few days and that is about it.

Last year my oldest daughter(who just turned 21) was in Walt Disney World as a college placement student. We do not have things like that here in WA state. We have the fires.
When Rita was going through we stayed on our cell phones for as long as possible. She just kept saying how loud it was. She would say over and over again mom it is so loud, it is so loud.

Not sure but I think most of them do not. However, in light of what happened last year with Katrina (people not wanting to leave because they couldn't take their pets), I think alot of the hotels and different places are "re-thinking" their no pet policies - and well they should. It would be nice to have at least one shelter in each city that is pet friendly. Afterall, our pets are just as much a part of our family as the "skins" are! But if anyone ever evacuates my way, let me know - my home is open and, best of all, it's pet friendly:)
