I have seen several different doctors (gyno's) in my life and some would switch my birth control pills - ARE YOU ON THEM? - sometimes, the estrogen in them makes your body different and of course, most people take them to regulate their periods. Anyway, I was a moody, mess for those several years of being on different pills. I think the doctor would switch them about every year and a half or so. Finally, I just quit taking them all together a few years back, but my periods were still never right.
One doctor said that as long as I spotted (even it was one spot all day) that was considered a period and that most women would love to have that kind of period.
Then, my thyroid was underactive (gained weight, no energy, etc), but my period was still the same.......Some even said that it was early menopause, but who knows. I too was alittle worried about fertility issues, but that was never seen as a big issue with the doctors I seen. But, I don't know why it wouldn't be an issue........we were always taught that you had to be going through all of that for your body to get ready for having babies, so I don't know.
I have heard everything from it being caused by stress, diet, exercise, lifestyle, genetics, etc. I honestly don't think anyone knows for sure. Like you, I was tested for everything and have tried several different things, to no avail. So, has of the past 12 years or so, I have been content with a very small period or none at all.
Maybe getting a second (or third or fourth) opinion might do some good. Like I mentioned earlier, I seen several different doctors (probably about everyone in my area) while I was trying to figure it out.
Good Luck! |
