? Who Sells On Ebay Hi, I am thinking of signing up on ebay and was curious if there is other YT'ers here that do sell and buy on ebay what their experience has been there and would you recommend it to myself. I am seriously thinking of making and selling things there. Appreciate your opinions. Thank you, Patti |
I have sold a couple pair of jeans that no longer fit me, some Falcons tickets, a purse, etc. And I have bought stuff too..cameras, doggie things. I heard EBAY horror stories, but all of my experiences have been pleasant :D Good luck! |
My Son has sold stuff on there. One time he had someone slow to pay but that was the only problem he had. When My daughter outgrows her clothes this time i am going to sell them on there |
Ebay We have put some harnesses and dresses on ebay for the furbabies....and the first three sold quickly - but not at very good prices - and one of them complained that the sizing was wrong (although the sizing matched what I posted) and I ended up having to custom make something at the low price. Then I put up three more...and none of them sold. So in the end - we made about $10 after all the ebay fees.....and it was not worth it. We are told all the time to try again and maybe we will this fall. I buy lots of things off ebay stores and have never had a problem from the purchasing side. One suggestion....whatever you decide to make and sell on ebay - I would spend some time watching similar items and what they are selling for. I found that there are several people that sell harness all the time (with leashes) for a buy now price of $9.99.....and I am not sure how they are making any money after all the ebay and paypal fees!! Good luck in your ebay business!! |

What I am planning on is getting back into my painting,I use to make wall clocks, cut my wood and did all the decorative painting on them. Some cutsie but love the realistic. It takes a lot of time making one but then they are all different and no two alike :) so that takes the boredom out of doing them, and I love to paint.Wood has gone up so much in cost and I am very selective in what I choose. I thought it would be fun and give it a go. Have you ever heard the saying," nothing lost is no gain and nothing gained is no loss," so maybe I shall give it a go. Guess I will need to sign up with Pay Pal in doing this. Thanks for your input. Wishing you a nice day. Patti |
Like wall clocks Baby blessing?? When you get going let me know!:D |
I'm totally digging this wall clock idea;) Now I have to try and do a wall clock just because it sounds so COOL:) |

Yorkieangel, isn't it fun to paint? How long have you been at it. What all do you paint are you into the cutsie or realistic Paintings? I had posted a picture of a wall clock I had cut out and painted for our kids, I had it on a thread here sharing. I don't know where to look for the thread to show you :( I love painting, always have my hands busy am working on a victorian crocheted bedspread now, when I find the time to sit down and watch tv, I crochet on it only then and also as I am waiting in dental or Dr. office. I made a pineapple pattern bedspread years ago, have it put back for one of the kids. I am going to give the one I am now working on to my daughter in law, one day she will get it, I already crocheted the doilies and dresser scarf and gave to them. I don't think many like using crocheted things anymore, I love them. |
I have had mixed experiences on ebay, some things sold for way too little & got stuck with a $60 bad check because I was stupid & mailed the things & didn't allow enough time to let the check clear. Apparently it can take over two weeks (how can that be?). I've also bought some things that didn't turn out to be what I had hoped. You really need to pay attention to shipping charges when buying. But all that said, I love Ebay, hardly am even interested to go to stores anymore except for my clothing. However, maybe the most serious problem is that it is as addictive as YT. You can spend hours on there before you realize it. Good luck on your selling. I hope it works out well for you.:) |
I sell on ebay and have for a couple years. I really love doing it....sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you dont...my biggest word of advice is use paypal and set a reserve if you know what the least amount you want for your item is. It is really just trial and error...have fun with it!! Dawn |
I do both buying and selling on ebay and only got stung once...I got the item, but it was disgusting when it was supposed to be new. Other than that, I've always been pleased with my purchases. I call Maddie my Ebay puppy, because that's how I came up with the money to buy her. I just sold lots of things and some things went high...others not. This summer, my son and I had a garage sale here. There were so many sales going that weekend, that we didn't sell much. I had put a bunch of papercraft magazines out and even offered a lady to just take them if she wanted and she walked away without taking one. I put several sets on Ebay...one set ended at $56, one at $24 and another at 20 something! My son had a cd box set in the garage sale marked $8 that didn't sell, so I put that on Ebay and it ended at $64! I thought we did pretty good! Good luck with your ebay business!!! |

You just gave me the idea to put them on there, thanks:) Connie did you open up a Pay Pal to handle the charges and payments? It seems like that is the safest and easiest. |
I've bought a lot from ebay, but never sold anything. I have PayPal, but not sure how it works for them to pay me for something. |
If your paypal is already connected to your Ebay it's pretty automatic. When you list an auction just click where you want to use paypal. As soon as the person pays for the auction it goes right into your paypal account. Then you can even print a shipping label, pay for it, and have USPS come to your house and pick it up! You can even get FREE boxes to sell stuff with. At any time you can transfer your money from paypal right into your checking account and it will appear there in less than 4 days or so. I've never had a problem. You don't even have to leave the house! It rocks! |
