the hybrid beast found in maine hi all over here in the uk we are seeing pictures of a creepy dog like creature found over there have any of you guys heard about it , it has apparently killed a rottweiler and a doberman , i think it was hit by a car and killed but omg its got freaky eyes , does anyone have any info on this strange find it look like a werewolf! |

That is strange. I don't like the word "mutant"...but that animal is more than likely just a mixed breed dog...just by what I could tell from pictures. |
Ok...I can usually find something cute in ALL animals - but that has to be the ugliest thing I've ever seen. Is this for real ? it said it's been a legend for Half a Generation ? That's pretty long - I wonder what mated with what to get that ? I sure hope that is a one time thing.....FREAKY is right. poor thing - I guess if a car didn't get it someone with a gun would have. |

I agree w/ newmommy, I don't think it's that ugly. People are probably afriad of it that's why everyones saying it's ugly. I would have to see better pics of it. If that isn't the animal that's terrorizing the town, then I feel bad for him :( |

Wow!..... Thats the weirdest looking 'dog' i have ever seen! I just LOVE stuff like this..i read up on sightings of Big Cats in the UK all the time, I find it fascinating. Will be interesting to see what DNA tests come up with. My thoughts are that this is maybe a Smooth Haired Chow mixed with some sort of Feral dog. I think its tail is the oddest thing about its appearance.:confused: |

This is a pretty old thread so maybe the pictures aren't there anymore. I found it by googling hybrid beast like dianne suggested. I remember it was very strange. |

What they showed in the old links is not the same as what they're showing now - I remember this thread and some sites have pictures of the animal that was just found - but it's not the same as what the sites were showing before - What they showed before was very creepy looking - Poor thing - I think it was a dog or wolf mix but it wasn't a 'mythical creature' like people were saying. |

Sorry guys but it looks like a regular heinz 57 to me! I'd say part pit part chow? A "mutant" gene can be anything. Our own DNA does that all the time! Poor thing, probably had no one to ever give it love or a home. |
That poor dog isn't what they showed a year ago.....poor thing. It sure looked like he had a hard hard life :( |
A sad life and a sad death. Poor thing. My heart breaks. He was probably very lonely in the world and just trying to survive. To call him a beast is a bit harsh. I also read that they declined to come examine his body and it just got eaten away by vultures. I hope he has found peace. |
