Need to get this off my chest I've been a member here since January and really started to post in May and haven't vented yet, so here's my first one. On Tuesday I posted that I was concerned about Tia's weight and needed some support, information whatever. I got 71 views but only 3 replys. Next next day, someone else posts a thread about the small yorkies and gets 4 pages of replies! So, I figure, can't be the topic cause people seem interested. Anyways, I got the information I was looking for from the other post but not the support I reached out for :( Just needed to get this off my chest |
I feel like that a lot with my threads. Try not to take it personally. I can't speak for others YT habits, but I go immediately to threads posted today and read/respond to what I can with whatever time I've got. Since there are 9 pages of today's posts, I rarely get through them all unless I'm on for a few hours. So, if the post gets much beyond page 3, I probably don't see it. |

I see that happens a lot. Sometimes a topic interests me cause I don't know the answer and I get curious myself. If I don't know the answer I feel bad to post or if I'm not 100% sure. I wouldn't take it personally though. :D |
Oops Sorry if I was one of the guilty parties. Actually, I know very little so when I do post, it should probably be ignored. Sometimes, I'm sort of leery about giving my opinion but never intend to ignore anyone so again, if it was me, please accept my apologies and I am glad you got the answer you needed\\ I'm new here and after reading some of the posts about others feeling guilty about mistakes they made posting, it kind of scared me off. I'm sure I've made all those faux paux (probably spelled that wrong, too) and many more. I'd say just not to take it personally and search out the answers you can find and if you still don't get what you are looking for PM one of the more experienced for a personal answer. I'm sure everyone is willing to help, its just easy to get caught up in replying to those they might be more familiar with. Anyway, good luck to you and if you have a question that those who know can't answer, pm me and I'll share my ignorance with you.:animal37 |
I agree with everyone else. It really and truly isn't anything personal. I think the number of replies you get a lot of times depends on when you start the thread. I have noticed that the threads started around 8-9am on the weekdays get a lot of responses, and I think it is because a ton of people get on YT right when they get to work and post replies, then people who get on throughout the day reply because the thread has been bumped to the top by the people replying in the AM. A lot of times if I start a thread on the weekends or holidays or late at night, then it gets lost in the threads started the next morning and thus doesn't get many replies. I don't go to individual forums. Whenever I logon, I just click on "new posts" at the top. I read the posts that interest me, but I usually don't respond if there are already a ton of responses and I would just be agreeing with what someone else said. A lot of times, I'll see a post with one 1 response, I'll read it, and I'll agree 100% with what the first poster said, and I won't respond. I make it a habit of going through all the "new posts" and responding to those that have zero or very few responses and I feel like I can offer more info. However, if I truly don't have a clue what the answer is, then I will read it but not respond. If I think that the person who started the thread really needs a response and I don't know the answer, then I might ^bump the thread. Sorry this is so long....just didn't want you to get down in the dumps about it :p |
Thanks guys!! I know its not personal and sometime threads get buried and sometime some other threads (Like the on about Chloe) take more immediate attention and rightfully so. I have just been so worried about this little dog and too much of the time spend regretting that I agreed to take her. Anyway, thanks again, I feel :hearts-xx . |
I feel the same way sometimes. I was really upset a couple of days ago. I had started a thread in the items for sale forum, and the next morning some one else advertised similar items, and I sat and watched her get reply after reply and my thread was doing nothing. I guess she just had a more eye catching title. I was not angry at any one, just upset at the time. |

I'm sure that little Tia is fine! Some yorkies, like people, just grow faster or slower than others. Maybe Tia will have a growth spurt real soon. How big were her parents? |
I look at a lot of threads that I don't answer to. Sometimes I really don't have an answer, sometimes I just don't feel like responding and sometimes there's already a lot of responders. Lately I just haven't felt like responding to hardly any of the threads, I've just been lurking. Also, there's been soooo many threads. When you're only on Yorkie Talk once a day you find that you have pages and pages to look at the next day. I've quit trying to look at every one of them. So, I quess that I'm saying that I'm probably one of your "lookers". Don't be upset with me. I think that I have the summer hum drums!! |

I notice that alot as well, but i must say i am a guilty party of that myself. I read alot of threads but alot of the time i don't know what to say or i don't want to give wronge information, alot of what i know just comes from MY experiences with Lexi and she is my first yorkie. She is only 1 so i feel like i am not as knowledgable as some on this forum so i just read the thread hoping i can gain some knowledge but i don't post. |
I think we have all been there, were looking for answers and solutions and sometimes people dont have what were looking for, I agree, I may read a thread but have no clue so I dont post. Hope you feel a little better! |

Just look forward to the day when she is older and you can enjoy her and you don't have to worry about her so much. That day will come, and when it does, you'll probably miss some of those puppy days :D |
