<big sigh> Does anyone know how to remove... permanent black magic marker from inside the dryer:2omg: ? My dd had a one in her pocket un- beknownst to me it apparently fell out in the dryer and I threw in bathroom rugs to dry not seeing the marker :thumbs_do and now I have a fine, fine mess. I am afraid to do more drying for fear it will come off on my other clothes. Can anyone help??? :crying: thanks |
Try "Goo Gone". It gets off paint and things. It may work. |
You can try one of these solutions, but I don't know how well they work personally... Good luck! http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question...3213606AApUAKf |
Acetone/nail polish remover. I used in on permanent marker on tile and it came right off. |
I would try GOOF OFF. It seems to clean up alot of thngs without eating the finish |
Lighter fluid would work, that's what my husband (a floor installer) uses to take black marks off new floors. |
I would try going over the top with white board marker first then rubbing it off. It sounds weird but it really works. It should take it right off. |
I would try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser first. If that doesn't work, try Goof Off but make sure it is not OIL based. The oil based ones will harm the enamel coating on the paint finish. |

Rubbing alcohol works great for removing permanent ink! Good luck!!! I can see why you do the "big sigh!" |
Thanks all! I tried the Magic eraser--eh didn't work that great. I tried goo gone--same not that great. I have never heard of Goof Off, I didn't have lighter fluid or acetone so I tried Hair spray. It took most of what was on the metal part of the drum off but the plastic parts still have marker. The inside looks nasty but I can't do anything about that. Hopefully, it is off enough that no close will be ruined. Will Acetone take off the enamel/paint on the drum? Thanks for everybody's suggestions! I knew this was the place to come. Jamie |

Something called Simple Green got DRIED acrylic (wall) paint off of an expensive coat of mine. It's a long story - basically the kid at Lowes didn't tap down the lid on the paint! Anyway, my mom brought that stuff over and it came off with some scrubbing. I think she got it at Menards. |

I believe that I would just run some old towels thorugh it a few times, and chances are anything that hasn't come off, after that, won't come off on your clothes. Have you considered replacing yhour DD.. LOL |
