I'm Putting My Car on ebay!
 
Ok... Its no secret that I love ebay.... So it should come as no surprise that I want to sell my car on ebay... but my family thinks I'm nuts!!!

I have a 2000 Honda CRV and I'm ready for something new!!! The KBB Value for Private Party Sale is 7000 and the dealership offered me 3500 as a trade!:eek: I laughed!!! Its Paid for!! Its in perfect condition!! Whatever! 3500!!! Kiss my Tail Pipe!! No Way!! So I said I'd be back with Cash for a Down Payment as soon as I sold my car! :D So I am listing it TODAY! :thumbup:

I've watched over the last few weeks and my car with my miles has closed for 6 to 8000.... so I know I can get what I want out of it....

Am I really nuts?? Why not ebay??? I want to sell it quick!! I don't want to drive around with a piece of paper in my window for a month!! lol I want it sold!

Is there a better way??? I've never sold a car.... Any advice??

I think e-bay is a great way to sell it!! Hopefully it should sell real FAST!!

Sounds good to me. I don't think you're nuts. Car dealers are a rip off. Sorry if any of the YTer's are car dealers.

Sounds like a good idea to me! And with ebay you can put your minimum on it so it will at least go for what your bottom dollar is.

They wish they could have had it for 3500... they can sell it used for 10000 easy!!!! Its in amazing shape The KBB retail value is 9900..... so add an extended warrenty and a couple of ither extras... and its a hell of a profit for them!!!!! NO WAY!

3500!!! Hell I'd buy 3 at that price myself!!! lol

good idea, I was thinking of doing this too, I am trying to sell my Tahoe but I dont want to get ripped a new one either...lol...... and people around here want it really cheap and its not a old car.... I say go for it if the fees are worth it, what happens if they dont match your reserved price, do you get to keep it? :confused:

My bf bought our last car off of ebay. :)

You could also try some of the car for sale magazines.

I think that's a great idea!!!! you can get some good money for it!

and it wouldn't surprise me if my brother came out of his room, "Mom I want this car!" and it's yours lol. He's turning 16 in a few months and all he talks about is cars, and he's ALWAYS on eBay looking at cars haha.

i think it is an awesome idea! Heck I see people selling houses on ebay why not a car :) . I think trying tio get a decent trade thru a dealer is useless. They will just put your trade in back on the lot and sell it for what they should have given you in the first place.

Another option for selling your car is Craigs List. No fees either, it's free!! My son is looking for cars and stuff on Craigs list all the time. I sold some ceramic epuipment on Craigs List, got exactly what I wanted too. Good luck!!

Good luck with it! If it doesn't sell, try Autofocus, that's supposed to be real good..my bf had bad luck selling his 350Z in it, but we know other people who have used it and had success.

We sold dh's old Mustang on Ebay earlier this year. We had listed it in the newspapers here several times with no luck. Listed it once on Ebay and it was gone!

If it doesn't hit your reserve price, then no, you don't have to give it up. That's the great thing about selling it that way!

ok.... So I went out and Smogged it... Put 4 new tires on it... changed the oil.... Had the brakes checked... had a complete detail done!!!

It looks Amazing!!! I'm thinking I should keep it! :confused: lol It drives soooo nice with the new tires!!! god new tires make a big difference!! Yikes!!! I am gooing to have to sleep on it now!!! Crap!! I was totally set on selling it!!!

It still has another 100,000 miles and then some left in it!!! its only got 120,000 now! And 40,000 of those I put on in the first 6 months!!! lol Commuting for school... it was awful!! I drove more than I slept!! Infact I think I slept some while I drove! lol

Hmmmm another 5 years without a car payment..... I'm thinking I might have to keep it... I don't know:confused:

i would keep it but that's just me no car payments leave you alot of money to buy other things you may see and want instead of having to put things off or save for them.

My son sold a car on Ebay, my daughter bought a travel trailer on ebay & the daughter of a friend of ours bought herself a mobile home on ebay. All seem satisfied with the way things went. But then again, I HATE owing people money, paid for sounds real good to me. Good luck whichever way you go.

Good Luck Kathryn! I have sold two Motor Homes on Ebay! They were both very good and successful transactions. I love Ebay!
