Peanut, you are soooo sweet to do this thread. It felt so good to see this that it made me cry! Peanut had to remind me that "Yorkie kisses really are Gooooood Medicine"... I REALLY DO feel at home here now! Thank you all for your kind words and especially for your prayers for my sweet little "Katie Bug!" Her surgery isn't until August 4th, and we'll be out of town until the 3rd, (I'm gonna miss you guys!) but I will let you all know how it goes. Thanks again, |
This will help Katie. I'm sure everything will go perfectly hey, she gets to eat sherbert for a while! She'll be happy for that point! (Just make sure you don't run out:p) I hope everything goes wonderfully try not to worry too much mom! |

Katie, Kriston and the rest of the family will be in our thoughts and prayers!! :hands: My daughter was a severe asthmatic growing up and had to have surgery on her knee at 10 yrs old......we worried and worried.....so I really know what you are feeling right now!! Things went well with her surgery and Katie will do well also!! Try to enjoy your trip and let us know how things go after the surgery!! |
Prayers, hugs and lots of puppy kisses to Katie and Kriston. Eat all the ice cream you can Katie. |
We're home! Thank you all for your sweet posts. Katie had her tonsills out today and she is in a great deal of pain, but she is doing well. It concerns me that she doesn't want anything cold or sweet, she only wants chicken noodle soup! I called the doctor and his nurse said it was okay but only to warm it enough to melt the fat, so that is what I'm doing. She has sipped 4 bowls of it in the last 5 hours. She is so miserable... She gets pain meds every 4 hours but that last 30 minutes before her next dose of pain medicine seems to take FOREVER!!! I have a feeling that we are going to have a LOOOOOOONG night! Thanks again everyone! |
I'm glad she's doing OK. I feel so bad for her since her pain meds don't work...can the doctors prescribe her a stronger dosage? Your poor daughter :( |
Tell Katie she is suppose to be eating ice cream.....Don't worry so much Kriston she will eat other stuff later....I know she will feel so much better in a couple of days, you & her both will be glad she had them out..Did the doctor say anything about why her tonsils where so large...I bet it will help her with her restrictive airway disease and asthma getting them out....Give her a kiss and tell her to get well soon.....:) |
oh by the way if it gets to be to loooong of a nite, you got my # call...:D |
Thank you, Lord for taking care of Katie bug. Hope she's feeling better than new real quick. :getwell: |
Thanks everybody! The doctor increased her pain meds and added a new medicine, thankfully! The doctor said that the 3rd day is the worst. Since he did the surgery at 8:00AM on Friday, is this the 3rd day? I didn't ask if Friday counted as day one. Hubby says no, I say yes, either way, she is in lots more pain today than yesterday, she doesn't want to eat or drink anything at all and is just laying on the couch moaning. Poor baby. The doctor also said that day 7 through 10 were the most risky for her to begin bleeding because the scabs would be sloughing off then... gross... Who would guess that? I thought mouth injuries healed way faster than that, especially in a kid. Well, thanks again for your prayers and kind thoughts. |
Fellow YT'ers, I would like to thank you all for your sweet words, thoughts and prayers. Katie is back to her old self, and almost at 100%! We are so relieved to see her doing SO well. She still has a little pain now and then, and Tylenol is taking care of that! The tonsillectomy is a much more painful and serious surgery than I remembered it being when I had it done back 28 years ago! Funny thing is that her main/chief complaint is ear pain, which her surgeon said was normal. Thanks again! Kriston |
I'm glad she's recovering so well! |
devoted to Lucy! So good to hear Katie is doing well! Praying for her speedy recovery Kim and Lucy:aimeeyork |
