Need some advice... I am just about 14 weeks pregnant and I was curious how far long you have to be to start gaining weight? I haven't had much of an appetite to eat so I've been losing. Has anyone else went through this? Thanks to all that reply! |
Its been a loooong time since I had this problem 21 years at that...but with my daughter I lost weight until I was about 5 months because I didn't eat alot but boy after that 5 month I made up for it....:D |
Well... with my boys I didn't really gain much weight until the 4th month, but I just looked bigger in the butt and breasts. With my girl I was really sick for the first 5 months, so I lost weight. Once I started feeling better I started to gain quickly, but by then my pregnancy was half over. I gained 40 lbs w/ my girl and carried her mostly in the belly. I gained 60 to 70 lbs with the boys and I carried that weight ALLLLLL over my body! Congratulations and good luck! These next few months will be the most exciting time of your life! BTW I was wearing maternity clothes by the 5th month will all of them... it was by the end of the 4th month with the second boy! |
Thank you! My doctor gave me some medicine to help but it says it will make me sleepy. Just what I need. HeHe I guess that's better than being nauseous :) |

Well I'm 22 weeks pregnant today! I am having the SAME problem. The last time I was at the doctor's a month ago I got yelled at because I still haven't gained a pound. I think I'm gaining weight now though. My first trimester I felt sick ALL the time. Prettymuch right as soon as I hit the second it totally went away. I think it also might be because when I started out I weighed about 20lbs more than I usually do. When I had my son I gained everything by the book. But I was really healthy back then and I only weighed 130lbs. I gained exactly 1-2lbs a month then more in the end. I also wasn't sick at all with him and only threw up once in the 3rd trimester. Anyways, don't worry about it too much. Just take your pills and don't let yourself become hungry, that means don't skip meals. As long as you're eating and the stuff you put into your mouth is good for you that's what matters. I've known people to LOSE weight with their pregnancies and everything turned out fine. And if you have to treat yourself to MAKE yourself eat then do it. There were times when I didn't feel like eating, so I would drive out to KFC or Subway and order my favorite takeout from there because I KNEW I would eat it all no matter how sick I felt. It's one of those small sacrifices to make for your baby ;) |
Thank you for your response. It's nice to know I'm not alone out there! This is my first pregnancy and I am learning all kinds of things. :D |
wow....i didn't have that problem. i just gained gained gained ..... i know you feel like you need to gain weight but at 14 weeks, the baby is about an inch big (if i remember correctly) |
