Have you tried calling around in your area? Many of them will give a free initial consultations. You can tell 'em your story and ask a few questions... |
hi i actually have an attorney and the problem was supposed to be fixed but i just dont think he his doing a very good job, things are just getting worse as time goes by and it seems since he got all his money he could care less. he waits till 8,9 o clock at night to call me about a big issue and then its too late to call someone to take care of it.. but thanks..and i alot of attorneys said they cant touch the case with another attorney already on it, has any one ever heard of that? |
I just wouldn't tell the *new* attorney that you're already working with someone when you make the appointment. It might cost a bit more money with the new guy 'cuz he's going to need to get up to speed.... Have you talked to your current attorney? Tell him this is a big problem and you're going to switch if it doesn't stop, see what he says. Maybe they can't touch it... but then I think about how many times defendants in high profile cases change their lawyers. |
hmm..well my attoney just... i dont know frustrates me he called last night around 8 or 9 tell me this big problem, i cant sleep i felt sick then this morning im calling trying to make arrangements then i call him back and he said well all we ned to do is this and this and it should be okay!! this guy drives me crazy but i dont know if i could afford another attorney right now.. 9im going to see if this fixes everything right now and then see what happens |
Hey, if it's anything like here you can call the bar association. I'm not sure if you have a legit complaint about how your attorney is conducting business, but that's who you need to talk to if it's bad. They can also give you some referrals. Your courthouse might also have a legal referral line which can put you in touch with someone. I know that attorneys can not act on your behalf if you are represented, but you are intitled to a second opinion if you feel your attorney isn't doing a good job. I believe you can also fire your attorney or ask him to withdraw from your case so that you can retain someone else. Good luck. |
thanks for in the info tigger!!!!!!! |
My advice would be to switch attorneys and get a female attorney (no offense guys!). I am a paralegal in a law firm, and from my experience, female attorneys pay much more attention to details and are VERY good about calling people back. Your attorney is not doing this stuff on purpose...I am sure he is REALLY busy. But you do NOT have to put up with him treating you this way if you don't like it. Tell him that you are going to find other representation....get a FEMALE  |
