SunTea :beermug: Just curious..... it was 104 here in Rome, Georgia today. And for the first time in a gazillion years I put out some suntea to brew. Anyone else make suntea? :beermug: |
nope, what is it? lol |
You don't know what SUNTEA is? You get a clear glass jug with a lid (in my case 1/2 gallon jar). Fill it full of cold water, pop the tea bags in put on a lid and stick it in the sun. In about two hours you have some of the best tea you will ever drink. I am an unsweetened ice tea girl, myself, but after the tea is brewed you sweet tea drinkers add the sweetener of your choice :) |
Yes, we make suntea all the time haven't had any this summer season yet...but might try some tomorrow:p |
My mother used to do that all the time during summer. Thanx for the reminder! I think I'll put some out tomorrow!! |
we are big suntea drinkers here, and you can get the flavored tea bags and make some really great tea! |
haha that sounds really good but i had no clue lol |
We always have a jug of it going in the summer time. The best tea you will ever drink. I have even been known to make it in the winter time. As long as the sun is shinning. |
That's funny. When was in the military, I would have my friends (Well in the military at 18 with no kids those girls were my Family, and I thank God for them!) But I would make SUNTEA all the time (I was stationed at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana). My girlfriends could have sworn that suntea was something that I thought of on the top of my head. I tried telling them that growing up in the South, you learn different way to keep the kitchen cool in the summer time. But it has been years since I made suntea, I think I may sit a pitcher out today if the weather permits!!! This thread has brought back a lot of childhood memories as well! |
I haven't made any yet, but I've had a hankering. If it doesn't rain, today will be the day!! |
:yelrotflm I really had to laugh when I read your post! I make it all the time. I'm from the South orginally and after we moved here (Maryland) people kept asking why I had a gallon jug with tea bags sitting in the sun....I still have someone ask once in a while. I love it and make it as lot as the sun stays warm enough to do it. |
My mom makes suntea every single day! I love it so much, I decided to stay here for awhile..(lol). Now she wonders why I won't go home. |
