I dont think its going to work
 
Hey everyone! Im sure most of you know that I started a little website business almost a month ago. I really put my heart into it but it doesnt seem to be successful. Im not sure why. I priced everything really low and make quality dresses. Maybe its just not meant to be right now. But with me not making any money from it, I cant afford to keep the site going. So I think I will be shutting it down at the end of this week. I want to thank anyone who has ordered from me. I cant tell you how much I appreciate you. YT is so speial to me! So thanks you guys!! :) :)

Well, I am in the same boat. My site has been up for over a month, and I have had ZERO sales. And my bows are well made and cute, I don't know what I did wrong. And I spent a lot of money having the site built. But, I am not going to close anytime soon, you have to stick with it, or so I have heard.

Can I order a couple of Momma's boy shirts before you close it down? I think you have a great site, have you tried to advertise on other sites as well?

I've never had a business but a month doesn't seem very long. What if you tried for awhile longer with more advertising? You both have great sites and I'd hate to see them go.

Maybe you should try Ebay. I hope things work out for you.

I am so very sorry for both KiKiPie and Annebelle's Mom. I know how much it hurts and how frustrating it is.....

Both of you do such beautiful work, it is a shame to let your talent go to waste, is it possible for you to find a site that does free webhosting?

I just received a dress from Patti. She told me that she got that from you. It is so beautiful!!! I love it!!!! Wait a little bit :) We usually need time to decide.

I mean I have been checking your site for sometime, but my pup is so small that I haven't ordered anything yet... People just need a bit of time to decide and stuff :) I just love it so much.. If anyone wants to check how it is on Haruka..

A month isn't a very long time to give a business to become successful. People need to find your site, and get the word out. If you can afford to, give it time!

I really hope you can hang in there a while to give it a chance to take off. I ordered one of the Daddy's Little Girl T-Shirts, and though I haven't received it yet, I'm excited about getting it. Give it some more time if there's any way you can.

I second sshaw's suggestion that you try eBay. I'd try it at first as a supplement to your existing site - not a replacement.

Kristi, You have only been open a month and therefore cannot gauge if it will work or on based on that first month. Most businesses take 5 years before they see some profit. As you increase sales, so does your inventory, so technically there really is no money coming in until you have been in business for a while . . .

To keep your cost to a minium, you can shut down your website (since you are paying a monthly fee) but still continue to offer your services and talent to fellow YT members via postings. Don't maintain a huge inventory of items that you don't personally make so that investment is at a minimum. With constant advertising through pictures, people here at YT will continue to know you are in business . . .

You also have to understand that being summer, a lot of people are travelling and don't have time to be glued to the site.

I hope that you and Annabelle will reconsicer your decision and continue on . . . at least give it a shot until end of the year.

don't close down, i want to get those really cute ducky pjs and bathrobe but i don't have my puppy yet so i don't know what size she's gonna be. i'll order them when i get her :0 they are adorable and i simply must have them

Please keep in mind that all new businesses take time to get up and running. You have had orders, so that is positive and I'm sure there are lots of people who are planning to order (I am one of them). Remember that the website is a business expense and as such the cost is a write-off. Please be patient.

Is it the monthly hosting fee that is too much for you? I ask because we have a web design business and use a hosting company that is reliable and extremely affordable.

If you'd like information, just PM me. (FYI - This is of no benefit to me; we've just had good experiences with this company, and I'd like to pass on the savings and satisfaction... especially to other Yorkie owners!)

PLEASE don's close. I was planning on posting pictures in 3 days when I get my film back from town. I also wanted to order a couple more dresses when my hubby gets his bonus check in 3 weeks. I love the dresses and I also was planning on ordering some pjs I just havn't decided what one I want. I love your website and your products.
