I am so SAD My rabbit just had babies. 2 were born dead and she mutlited 2 more. I saved one but I really don't think it has a chance of living. I had to put the 2 down. My hubby usually does things like that for me but he isn't home. She chewed their legs off and they were still alive. POOR BABIES! I am so sad and disappointed. She use to be the best mommy. I don't know what changed. |
oh my that is sad... sorry |
I'm so sorry to hear...wish we can read our pet's mind sometimes to understand their their though process or reasoning...again, thoughts your way! You're very brave to do this...I'm not sure I could...do you think an animal shelter can help you with this difficult job since hubby is not around to do the deed? |

You are so strong...our heart goes out to you and your babies! |
that\'s awful .your not going to let her have any more babies are you? at least they had someone who knew what to do for them . |
I had a lot of rabbits growing up. We had one that snuck over to the neighbors a few times and turned up pregnant 4 times. She was not always a great Mom. They will sometimes feed their babies, but that\'s about it. Her first litter was 13. She piled 4 large dead ones together and then had the rest all over the garage. It was like a crime scene. We put the 9 remaining in a box and hoped for the best. She actually fed those. You never really saw her taking care of them. Then she proceeded to have three more litters in succession. I believe their gestation is under a month and she just kept getting pregnant. She would not take cae of her other babies and they all died.:( The point of this story is, that most rabbits do not make the best Moms. I am a big proponent of spaying and neutering rabbits because they well, act like rabbits and breed like crazy. It is not really explainable, but I have seen hamsters do exactly what your rabbit did. Please spay your rabbit if you keep her. There are plenty of unwanted rabbits at shelters. |

:( I am sorry to hear that. it\'s very sad :( You know my cat did that one time to a couple of kittens, i was told it was because they were runts and were not feeding well and probably would have died. Therefore mummy sensed it and suffocated them. I am not sure if this is correct? but Im sorry anyway, and hope the little baby lives  |
Im sorry. I dont know ANYTHING about rabbits but maybe its possible she has a vitamin deficiency. |
I am so sorry for the loss of your precious baby bunnies. I know that you will do what is best for all of your animals. I wish I\'d been there with you for moral support. I hope all goes well in the days to come. I know that your rabbits do make and are good mothers. Maybe it\'s just time this one was just a pet. Cheer up. |
