Another thing to be concerned about our health I stumbled across these sites and found another thing to worry about. It's www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep it has products like makeup, shampoos, toothpaste, face creams etc. etc. etc. that we use every day and it rates the toxins in these products from lowest to highest and lists the ingredients with the possible health concerns from using them. And of course I use some of the more toxic ones. I started at this site: www.afterglowcosmetics.com/Truth.asp which talks about all the chemicals in these products and they sell their own purer products. If anyone has used the afterglow products could you respond about their quality. ( I hope I put the right web addresses) |
i read about this awhile back and started using alot of burt's bees products. it's so darn hard to quit regular deodorant though. all natural doesn't really work. |
I did notice Burts Bee's products where some of the better ones to use. I've never tried them, I'll check them out though. |
I use products by Arbonne, the Green Beaver Company and Burt's Bees. I used the Burt's Bees Sage deodorant for a while, but switched over to Deodorant Crystal Spray Mist ($2.99 at most drugstores). It doesn't stop you from sweating, but it keeps you from smelling!! There are lots of options in the market now for products that don't contain chemicals. You still need to be an educated consumer, don't think that a label that says "all natural" really means it. I also use and entire line of cleaning products by Melaleuca. They work great and don't cost any more than the grocery store. |

Where do you get the Melaleuca products? Tea Tree Oil? Right? I love the way it smells :) |

I thought that Deodorant/breast cancer correlation was debunked by some new studies! No? Francie |
I love love love Burts Bees products and all the Aveda products I use score low so I am happy about that:D |
I just became a Consultant for Arbonne and am so happy with our products. We use the purest ingredents possible in our products. They are botanically-based, ph correct, hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, not tested on animals, or using animal by products, have no mineral oil in them, adn have no chemical fragrances or dyes. They were not in the article that you showed, but if it were, I think it would rate very good. In addition to the skin care line, we have a cosmetic line, body care, aromatherapy, nutrition products, and weight loss. The best thing about them is that they give consultants the opportunity to make a LOT of money. I never thought I would be doing something like this, but I have to say that it is the best opportunity. I have so many things I want to do, but am unable to right now. Like I'd like to get out of my apartment and into a house....Sadie needs a back yard! I would LOVE to talk to anyone who is interested about this. You can PM me if you would like more information. |
