Son is sick 1 Attachment(s) Hello all of the subject but my son has been running a fever for 3 days now and when i give him meds it is still a low grade temp it does not go away :( . I took him to the doc. Monday and all he said is he had a really bad sore throat and a ear infection and couldn't go to school till Thursday  . I think its more than that but I could just be a worrie wort. This mornig (Tue) it was the highest it had been 104.0 and the lowest after meds is 100.5 he has been sleeping alot and He at lest has been eating some and drinking alot so that part is good. I am just so tried and worried. He is tiny for 6 anyways 40lbs. the doc.said I was lucky he isn't over weight but he is just so small to me. Well I better get off of here cause he wants me to lay by him. Should I take him to get a second opion  Thanks all for being there ;) Tommy is doing great and I can tell he is worried about his bubby he has been slepping by him and he normally only sleps by mommy :aimeeyork .I will keep you posted. Here is a pic of them today resting :) |
High temp for 3 days sounds dangerous to me ... but I was always too over-protective of my children, I am told! If it doesn't get lower, I'm afraid if it were me, I would be seeking a second opinion. Hope he is better soon ... please keep us updated! |
i only go to the doctor when i have to, and ill probably be the same way with my kids (if i ever have any)....everytime i go the the doctors office, i get sick, it is BREEDING GROUND for other germs......... yuk........ I'm sorry youre son is sick that is sad :( I've noticed that children's temps are high when they are sick anyways (might be there smaller bodies  ) Pamper him good!!!!!! get him "prizes"... like a favorite movie or something :p i hope he feels better |
Hi monyka, I am so sorry to your son is sick. Our doctor(in illinois) is on the board at childrens hope hospital. When my 2 yr old had a 104 temp he told me to put her in a luke warm bath. I did that (at 2am  ) and lo and behold her fever came down. I did that twice the following day as well and it worked wonders. See a fever is the bodies way of fighting infection its when it gets so high that there is a danger to children. We just had the flu really bad recently with my husband ending up with phnemonia so hopefully its just a bad flu. Ill say a lil prayer for your son :) . sue |
Our family will be praying for your little one! Keep your chin up & pamper that baby :) Take care, |

What precious little sweethearts! Can tell by the picture that your son doesn't feel so hot. I don't blame you for worrying...worrying seems to be what mothers do best! I'll say a prayer for your little guy and hope in the morning you will have a good report! Best wishes! |
Both of your sons are adorable! I hope he's feeling better soon. Did the doctor do a test for strep throat? I've actually had a screaming sore throat the past couple of days and ran a fever last night myself, so I guess there's something going around (again.) |
I will have your little one in my prayers. If his fever is in the 100's now, thats a good sing. But if the fever goes back up i will defenitely taking back to the doc. Hope he gets better soon. Gucci sent him puppy kisses. |

If anyone wants to do the baths to bring fever down you have to leave them in tepid water for 40 minutes.( I know thats a long time) My kids are almost grown now but they ran really high fevers when they were little. The doctors said it must be hereditary. The bath will usually bring it down about 2 degrees. :) I hope your son gets better! |
I just wanted everyone to know that my son Jeremy has not had a fever all day:bravo: it lasted 5 days and he feels much better today. Thanks to all who were concered. :D |
Im so happy that your son is much better. Bravo indeed. He will back to normal in no time. |
