Depressed.
 

I am depressed today. Today is my husbands and my anniversary. I am missing him a great deal today. He is away in the National Gaurd. This is our 2nd anniversary. He is a great guy. He took on an instant family when he married me. I have 4 kids and he'd never had kids before. He has coped well I think. Thanks for letting me babble on here.

Oh I'm sure you do miss him.
You can plan a party for when he gets back.
Have a welcome Home party, and the next weekend
have a surprise late anniversary. :) :) :) :)

We already have a party planned for him when he gets back since it will be around his birthday. We are going to have a big dinner and he requested german chocolate cake. So I am going to make one from scratch for him. I just wish he was here today. It is hard when he is away for any long amounts of time. At least I have the dogs to cuddle with.:)

Aw, I'm sure he's thinking of you today too. Btw, that man must really really love you....he accepted the package deal. It is a very special person who accepts the responsibility of raising children...by choice.

Happy Anniversary! I can't imagine how hard it must be! My 18th anniversary is this Sunday. I'm sure he is thinking of you too, and I hope he comes home soon. Where is your maid of honor? If she is close tell her to meet you for a drink so you can toast yourself! Do something happy!

My maid of honor was my sister and between the 2 of us we have 9 kids so it's hard to find a sitter for that many or we would go out trust me!

Happy Anniversary!! I'm so sorry he is away! I know exactly how you feel though! My hubby just got back yesterday from his deployment overseas & he missed our anniversary as well! Just keep thinking about the homecoming....it will be here before you know it!:)

Hey everyone...i'm brand new to this and don't know how to navigate my way around...my little Bogey is so sick..His breathing is short and sporatic (Sp?) i don't know what is going on.....:animal36

Kitty I know that your anniversary wasn't what you wanted but I really ejoyed hanging out with you yesterday. Sorry all we did was groom dogs. Hope he gets home soon and you guys have a great time.

I know it's tough. My husband and I were both in the Navy. He gets out later this year. Most of our anniversaries have been spent apart. I think your husband is a great man for accepting your kids as his own, that has to be a big change from him from going from 0 to 4! My sister's husband did that with her son. I have always thought men who do that are super-sweet with big hearts. You're a lucky woman!
All I can tell you is to keep positive and stay busy. I have survived 3 deployments. What I do is try to plan something big to look forward to every quarter or so of it. So that you can say, "Wow, in 2 weeks my friend is going to visit!" or "In 4 weeks I'm going to take the kids camping." This is SO MUCH better than thinking, "Oh my god, my husband isn't going to be back for 9 months! ARG!"
The anniversaries and birthdays are always tough. Try to surround yourself with people and do something special anyways. Make a video or take some pictures for your husband. Put a care package together with some pictures of your wedding day.
Just try to stay positive. My way of thinking was, "It could always be worse!" At least your husband is healthy and wanting to come home to you! At least you guys have a wonderful relationship that has made it another year! Another thing that helped me was trying to think that it could be worse because my husband was only out for 6 months, some people go out for 9 or even up to 2 years. I was always so thankful that he never left for that long. I considered myself blessed and told myself that other women have it alot worse than I did.
