I'm going on a diet....Goal is june 30th.

Alright, I'm tired of gaining weight and I know I'm not going to fit in my bathing suits from last year so I'm giong on a strict diet..... Well not that strict b/c I'm still going to be drinking beer.. LOL I'm just going to cut down on the beer a little....

So my goal is to get in one of my old bathing suits from last year by june 30th. That's when we leave for the beach for the 4th. of july weekend. We're staying till wednesday and I can't afford to go out and buy new bathing suits. So here's my plan:

I have bought nonfat yogurt and grits for breakfast. I'm going to switch off and on between them.

Then for lunch I'm going to order chinese. They have a diet menu and I'm going to order the white rice, broccoli and chicken and they have such big meals that it lasts me for two days..... Then for dinner I'm going to eat boiled chicken and white rice.

I think I can do it.... Oh Yea, also on my lunch break me and my mom are going to go walking for an hour. I can take my hour lunch and go for a walk and pick up my chinese on the way back and eat it in the office on the clock. (My boss doesn't care as long as I'm here)

Ok, I know you probly didn't really want to know all of this but....... I just fet like rambling....LOL

I hear you!! I have been dieting and working out for about 3 months now and have lost 11lbs and still have at least another 10 to go. It is so frustrating! Good luck!! :)

BabyFidgette 06-13-2006 08:24 AM

teri88 06-13-2006 08:29 AM

Check out the off topic thread started by Glad on healthy eating. There are so many wonderful tips in there. I've lost 25 pounds so far!

For any of you still dieting I'll let you in on my secret weapon.

Just chicken and rice and broccoli plain is not very appitizing... Well you know you want to add butter but it's soooo fatning. It doesn't have to be...

Parkay has a spray bottle butter that is fat free. It's the best tasting butter you will ever have and it adds great flavor to everything. So I just dump it all over my food... If you try it then you will never use another butter

0 calories
0 satuatred fat

Congrats on wanting to lose a few pounds, but I just saw you in April, and girl, you don't have to lose much to fit into that suit!

Try to avoid white rice, white flour, white bread, white pasta, etc. High in starch, high in calories. Try brown rice or wild rice, wheat pasta, whole grain breads, etc.

Avoid saturated fat and absolutely do NOT put ANY transfats into your body. They are POISON... Read your labels!

DRINK A TON OF WATER!! Have water in your hand constantly during the day. It will flush toxins from your system and decrease your appetite.

Eat more vegetables than any other thing. Low in calories, high in nutients. I am happy you found a butter substitute!

You can vary your diet. Don't try to eat the same thing every day, or you will get completely bored and give up. Just try to make healthy choices. Think about every single thing you put in your mouth. Ask yourself, "should I really be eating this?" and if your honest answer is NO, don't do it!

Check out this thread. :p

Good luck to you. My Husband is on the weight watchers diet and he lost 10 lbs his first week.

Immediate solutions require drastic measures

Okay, I have this Birmingham AL 3-day diet that is being used by the AL hospital cardia unit and Ochsner Foundation Hospital for patients who need to lose lots of weight in a hurry before having heart surgery. You can lose up to 40 lbs in a month, although I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend you do this. This is just a quick fix and then maintain eating with healthy food after this . .

I have done this but never got to finish the 3rd day and lost 3 pounds. My sister lost 5 pounds and so did my friend who was responsible for sharing me this 3-day diet.

Let me know if you are interested . . .

I've tried a 3 day diet too a long time ago. It was like Tuna and cottage cheese and stuff. It wasn't too appetizing.

Well, actually it ain't too bad if you are used to these kinds of foods . . . they are foods that you definitely will not need to go out of your way to buy some. In my case, I had to buy most of it because I am Asian and therefor my meals are mostly asian foods

Diets are just a fad and don't last long. There needs to be a lifestyle change for good for weight loss to begin. Having June 30th as the deadline is a lot of pressure to put on yourself considering it takes people months to lose weight on a strict diet, with no starches, definetely NO BEER (beer is the enemy of weight loss so maybe you should reconsider and cut it out of your diet, because then you are just back tracking). I had a nutritionist for a long time, because I wasn't eating enough and needed to change my lifestyle to be healthy. You don't need to diet, just eat responsibly and exercise. For example little things you can do:
When ordering a sandwich get no mayo and swiss cheese or provolone cheese (low in fat/carbs).
No whip cream on starbucks and use nonfat or lowfat milk
Drink loads of water instead of soda, juice or BEER..lol
No food other than fruits and veggies past 7pm
snack a lot and have lots of little meals instead of 2-3 big ones
When eating out, avoid the foods that have a lot of cheese, salt, are fried or are fattening.
Instead of eating candy reach for dried fruit or nuts
Instead of chips, eat healthy crackers or natural popcorn
Just some ideas here, good luck.

Just an fyi....read the serving size that says the above. It is five sprays...five sprays contains none of the above. Wonder how much it is when you splurge and add spray #6?

Thanks for the advice. I know it is a lifestyle change that I need. In Oct. I will be ast this desk job for 5 yrs. and 5 yrs. ago is when I started gaining weight. I'm eating a yogurt instead of my normal candy bar and things like that now also... This job has just made me lazy and I am trying to be more active now. If I actually just started walking for the hour and day and stay buzy on on weekends then I know I would loose weight without having to diet as extreme as I am but I want the weight off b/4 the 30th. and then I'll try to keep up the walking and yogurt for my snacks... Sorry gals, but I can't loose my weekend Beers.....That's just a must for me, or now that I think about it, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Crown Royal and Coke...... Maybe I need to check and see what the fat is in crown and diet coke...

Crystal

Passionfruition 06-13-2006 11:10 AM

No, you're right...to some tuna with no mayo, beets, and cottage cheese is appetizing. But, if we thought those foods were appetizing to begin with, we wouldn't need a diet! We'd already be skinny! LOL :p :D
