Pot Belly Pig Does anyone have one? I have a co-worker who just inherited one, so to speak. The previous owner was feeding it dog food, which I've read is bad, bad, bad, high in protein or something. We've done some on line research but don't want to sign up for anything and all we can find is to feed it special pig chow food. My friend just wants to know some basic common sense care. As in is there food you can feed it besides pig chow and how much and how often? Also about the feet. Is there anything special you need to do, like horses? I'm not sure what else to ask. |
Hmmmm how about vegetables? I really don't know but understand pig's will eat anything. Who is her vet? I'd ask them or look for an exotic pet vet and make a phone call.... |
Vet? yeah, no. Don't ask, this woman is anti almost everything. A free natured kinda thing. |

Well I understand natural food concept, but what would happen if piggie gets sick? I would certainly want someone to help him if he were my pig. Tell her having a vet isn't unnatural, they are there to help you. |
A friend of mine had one years ago...this piggy ate and ate and his owner said that he'd get mean if he didn't feed him when he wanted to be fed..lol..well, it ended up that this once little guy wound up being HUGE! I mean absolutely huge. He couldn't keep him in the house anymore 'cause he was just too big! I'd definitely tell my friend to do lots of research and get lots of advice from vets, etc. They have to be fed correctly or possibly wind up having major problems (from what I've witnessed) |
