The panda one is my favorite! PS- I see dogs on MySpace all the time that have been dyed. |
Hahaha... Wow. I love the panda one! |
those are cool! |
How cute! |
am i the only one who thinks that is absolutely nuts? |
Before we got Gypsy, we were talking about getting a small poodle. Hubby said he wanted me to get a white one so he could color her/his fur for holidays. |
On a maltese forum I belong to there are several people who have dyed their dogs pink with sugar free Kool Aid. I am really considering doing my maltese's ears and topknot. :D |
WHY do people do this? |
Those are some neat pictures. I love the panda bear one, that is too cute. I am hoping to get a maltese in a year or two and I am sure I won't be able to resist trying it, I would have to go with purple or pink. It is not harmful to them, it washes out, and it really makes people stop dead in their tracks looking at your dog. If your dog wants 15 minutes of fame just dye it with koolaid and watch all the people stare!!!  |

BUT...... I do like the panda's too. Especially the Chow. He really looks like a baby panda! Not that I'm condoning it or anything..:D |
That has to be the cutest thing ever! What would be wrong with it? Do we not dye our hair as humans? And with way more toxic chemicals then kool-aid:) What is wrong with a little FUN?:D |
I don't know why I don't like it. It just seems wrong to me. Not cruel wrong but just not right... |

I really do not care for it either, but had one of my girls come in pink yesterday. Day care was out side coloring with chalk on the cement and Josey decided she wanted to look pink with a bit of purple on her face, she rolled in their art and was pink from head to toe with a dab of purple on her face. The kids got a big kick out of it and it took 2 washings to get it out.She did look cute. |
just my opinion...but i think it looks ridiculous |
I don't know that I would do it one way or another but I really don't see anything wrong with it. I just don't think its my taste to have my dog done like that. But I will say Reagan would probably be happier with her coat dyed then wearing some of the clothes I put on her every now and then, especially the shoes. I was reading on a groomers forum the other day and how one person suggested dying the dogs, just what I read haven't done it personally so not sure: To use food coloring you get the good kind ( paste)from where the bakers get their supplies and add 1/3 cup of vinegar to a gallon of water/color mixed. It was said that the vinegar sets the color just as it does on easter eggs. Another one said they used just regular liquid food coloring in the little squeeze dropper bottles or whatnot. I don't know how long it lasts or anything though... |
[OMG! Lol....someone has a LOT of time on their hands! Francie P.S. That last one...looks like a miniature lion....hahahaha |
my fav My Fav is the light pink Maltese on the grass. I feel personally, if you use safe dye, as in koolaid or other natural non burning or irritant dye, why not? people dress thier pets in all sorts of outfits, people give thier pets different cuts, why not have fun with the color , if you do it safely? I had a brindle pit bull named patch, he was such a sweety, he was afraid of his own shadow and never was the bully his breed was made out to be, I called him patch because thought most all of him was brindle, his paws were white and he had a white star on his chest, I used to dye them purple with koolaid, and he never minded, infact he seemed to like the attention it got him.I do agree some of the colors and styles used on the pics I posted are way out there, but each to thier own, and no harm no foul! |
Dyed Yorkie Top Knot http://www.raymonddog.com/ Here is a site with someone that I know used to dye thier yorkies top knot. Raymond has since crossed over to the bridge but as you can see in many pics his top knot was dyed. My hairdresser has also dyed her dogs hair. I think its fun. I don't think I would do it but I can see where some people would. |
