I think that you've just ruined my day...I'm older than dirt!! That coupled with the fact that I turn 50 next year. Wann' rub some more salt in the wound? I'm joking......well, maybe not completely......at least I don't remember ALL of them!! |
BTW....our phone number was Drake 83835!!! |

Yep...older than dirt...although just barely...I knew 16! I don't remember phone #'s like drake 88765 but in the really small town my grandparents lived in you only had to dial the last 4 digits of a phone #...and if the other party you were calling was on your party line...you had to do something special to dial their #, but I can't remember what it was. When we were little kids visiting my grandparents we always thought it was funny to listen in to the old lady that was on their party line....I'm sure she hated being on a line with my grandparents because there were 10 of us cousins, so she never had any privacy on the phone...that is if she could find the line available in the first place!! |
Dirt here .. |
Barely older than dirt...16. My grandmother's phone number was Madison26278...then it was shorten to MA2-6278. Lord that must've been burned into my brain cause I still remember it. My friend had a partyline....we eavesdropped on that too. :) And the skate key was useless....the metal part of the skate would never stay ON your shoes...it fell off and you didn't undo the straps...you just kinda drug the skates along until you fixed it. Course that meant having the key....which was the first thing you lost when you got new skates. |
s**t im old,, i remember my phonr number when living in the brox cypress54820... |
Well since I turned the big 29 yesterday I can only remember the first 2 on the list of which the second one (wax coke shaped bottles) my niece still gets and she is 11. |
You just prooved my grandkids are right, they are always asking me if I remember Moses, and did I know how red dirt was made from brown dirt,so yes I am as old as dirt, I remember all of them plus, getting into a theater show with pop bottle caps:aimeeyork |
Only remember four here, but I think it's really neat to learn about word prefixes for your phone number LOL Never knew that.:D |
