Honest opinions please My husband is a little upset with me right now. I will try to make this short & sweet. I went in for my yearly checkup last week and mentioned to my gynecologists that my back & neck and shoulders have been hurting. I'm 6 ft tall and wear a 42DDD anyway. I figured I would have to complain for a while before insurance would approve and pay for a reduction boy was I wrong. She recommended a surgeon and I had an appointment the next day. He said I was an excellent canaidate(sp) for a reduction and that our insurance blue cross/ blue shield was the easiest to get approval from of any that he has worked. My husband says I don't know if I like the idea of you getting a reduction. I told him in a few choice words that I didn't care if he liked it or not he would get used to it and if he was just s*** out of luck. I know he really doesn't care this was just the spur of the moment remark. When we first met I was probably a 38 or 40 D and I told the dr that I didn't want to go below a D cup that I thought with my height I would look strange. So, he was ok with that idea. Anyway it may happen sometime this summer which would be great, that way by the time that school starts back up in August I would be well on the road to recovery. If there is anyone on here who has had a reduction I would love to hear from you horror stories and all. A good friend of mine had hers done a few years ago so, I know it's really painful for the first few weeks. Sorry to ramble. Thanks for listening. |
I would love to get a reduction too. But isn't that funny? When we have them, we don't want them...and when we don't, we get implants? LOL :D |

Ain't it the truth. I have friends that don't have anything and are always saying when you have it done I want some of yours. |
Check your PM:) |

i think its up to you if you want it done or not, but really think first cause then you might want them back and then you want less again....etc. so, um, i think you should choose what you really want i guess. |

Considering I've been living with these for 15+ years and was never small before I gained weight there thanks to birth control pills and just plain old weight gain. Which I've already lost about 5 - 10 lbs and hoping to lose more. In high school at 145lbs and 6ft tall I was a D cup and that is what I'm aiming for. I know I will like it so much better. |
I have had one and it did not hurt at all. Well maybe a 1 in a scale of 1 to 10 for pain. I have had many friends that have had them also, what a life changer, you feel so much better and free after. Its hard to explain but its truly incredible watching people feel good about themselves after, your a new you. |
Best of luck to you! Whatever you decide to do, it should be your decision as it is your body and you are the one having to deal with the pain right now. Men can be such "Titty Babies" sometimes! :D |

Thanks. He said he was really in a state of shock when I told him and he will support me in whatever I do. I told him I was doing it whether he was supportive of it or not. He's getting over it. The dr want's to meet with us both before we schedule it so he can answer any questions he might have. Thanks again. |
I say do it. I recently started to think about getting a breast reduction. For me, looking for shirts that fit right has been a problem. Anytime I find something that fits, it always pulls in the chest area and my boobs bulge out. It is not attractive to me. I also would like to be able to wear stuff that fits well and not to have to wear baggy shirts. My chest is not quite as large as yours, but if they get any bigger when I have children, then I will definitely get them worked on. Oh to be a C cup. |
That is wonderful! Quote:

I am also looking into getting a reduction. As a matter of fact I have an appointment with the surgeon on June 9. (Can Hardly Wait)!!! I am a whopping 5 ft nothing seriously I am exactly 5 feet tall and I wear a 40DDD. I have chronic back pain which keeps me in bed for days at a time in some instances. I am only 27 years old but my mother had a brest reduction in 1994 and it really changed her life so I am hoping it will do the same for me! I understand that when you are married you have to make decisions along with your spouse, but what happens when a wrong decision can affect your health. I will be praying that he comes around because breast are not light weight when they get to be as big as mine are. Tameika |
in highschool my friend had one. She was back after a couple of weeks. She said it was WELL worth it (for her self esteem and physical comfort). PS I'm 6'3" and a C- I was actually just talking to my BF about how *ahem* large i look and I don't think smaller would necessarily be bad for a tall girl! I'm just skin and bones and then WABAM a large-er chest size. whoa.. sorry if that was too much info. hehe Goodluck with your decision!!! :D :D :D :D |
