OUCH! I look like a lobster! Okay so I spent all day outside yesterday babysitting my friends boys. That entailed going to the pool twice, playing tennis, playing baseball, all outside! I applied sunscrenn 4 times yesterday and by 10pm last night I was in agony! My shoulders, neck, arms, hands are all sunburnt! I'm radiating heat and I swear Simon looked at me earlier like I was crazy :) I'm his personal sauna now I suppose. I've never really had a burn this bad so I'm unsure what to do. A cool shower (I'm thinking that it going to hurt), Aloe Vera (I have a plant)???? Any help????? |
I have used solarcaine in the past. It comes in a spray or green gel. I think the gel has aloe and lidocaine for pain. It's sold over the counter in most pharmacies. Check the sunscreen aisle. Feel better soon--I know how uncomfortable sunburn can be |
You need a good looking guy to rub you down with lotion. That's the only way you'll feel better:) Trust Me:D |

Amen Sister! If you find one send him over :) I'm off to the store to get some spray and lotion, my luck he'll be there while I look like this (haha)! |
Aside from the lotion and spray, get you a big jar of instant tea or a bottle of vinegar. Soak in a tub of water as hot as you can stand it with one of these two ingredients for at least 15 minutes - it helps pull the heat out and with the other (lotions and sprays), hopefully you'll be feeling better tomorrow. I've used the tea soak, can't stand the smell of the vinegar - yuck!! Hope you feel better soon! |
Anything with Aloe in it feels good! I agree with V...you will definitely need a hunk to apply...it says so on the directions! Also, taking Tylenol helps....not sure why but it does! |
That was me last weekend. I went to an amusement park and didnt think to put sunscreen on since it was only70 degree weather and got burnt up. I put this green aloe vera gel on and it helps. |
OH NO!!! get some Aloe Gel, and stay out of the sun today. Wear as little as you can, and drink lots of water, you need to get that heat out of your body.I feel for ya, been there done that, and it hurts! Hang in there!    |
Aloe Vera Gel is my new best friend! My neighbor came down (she's a nurse) and said it looks like a burn + an allergic reaction which could explain why it's spreading up ny neck and face! UGH UGH UGH!!! I am happy to say I'm staying inside ALL day, drinking a ton of water, and going to take a nap :) |
The tea baths work as well as the Solarcaine...I also use, with great results, Motrin, 800mg every 8 hours to reduce the inflammation, does better than Tylenol, and bathe in Noxzema original....the cooling menthol takes out the burn. Morgan got toasted last summer while using sunscreen and nothing but the Noxzema helped his lobster body. It was pitiful. He said he felt fine and was wearing his clothes right after his bath. Hope it helps... |
I also got fried yesterday.. Really bad.. I had 4 SPF on.. Guess I was pretty stupid!! I am putting ALoe all over myself and it seems to help a bit |
