I went on that forum/site to read about breeder experiences, recommendations, etc and it's a JUNGLE in there. Anyone a member? Of course, this is just a lurking first impression. I am afraid to start a thread...

Yup! I tried registering a long time ago, when I first started searching for a dog, when I was still undecided between a maltese & a yorkie. They are just plain rude over there. No way would I want to be a part of a forum like that :thumbdown

That forum sucks. The members are super rude and they pounce on any newbies with a vengence. They rarely have anything nice to say and almost are always negative. You will be lucky to actually have your thread posted and if it is, be prepared to hear some ugly comments. I got banned over there just for being a member at spoiledmaltese.com because they lurk over there sometimes just to see who is members of both. The mod at MO actually trolled spoiled maltese for a while and sent some really ugly, threatening e-mails to the mod @ spoiled maltese. I will admit they have some useful articles on the actual site, but avoid the forum at all costs. :thumbdown

Oh yeah, they screen *every* single post before it goes up. They also have been known to edit posts and add things the original poster never wrote. When I was posting over there, it would be days before one of my posts would actually get through. They also have banned people who don't have purebred Maltese. :eek: A lot of the times they'll let a bad post or thread get through just to give the sharks some blood in the water to go off on people. It's crazy. I haven't been in a while but from what I've heard it's even worse than it used to be. They just are plain mean and pretty nutty over there.

It's sad to read that these people have nothing better to do, but at the same time it's funny that they spend so much time being mean. What's the point?

I joined that forum about 3 years ago. It's horrible!!! First of all Jay has a Napoleon complex. They censor everything and have to approve of everything before it's posted. You never know if it will ever make it thru their screening process. It can be rejected for a variety of reason...you mention the brand of dog food you use, someone wants to know what brand shampoo you use, mentioning another website, etc. I was on there when this lady joined in and mentioned her dog was half malt and half s**tzu or something. Jay bans her and makes a statement that his forum is for Maltese Only, purebred maltese! He did in fact troll spoiledmaltese and threatend people..it was so bizarre! Now I hear that if he bans you ..all your post that are still showing will have the message that "this member has been banned" on it. Guess he's into publicly humiliating people.

check it out, join and start posting. Be sure and ask everyone something like "what brand food do you feed your pup" or "what shampoo do you use", or "where can I buy cute dog clothes". To really get them hot say you have a malt/poodle mix or that your looking for a reasonbly priced maltese puppy, can anyone help you find one? LOL ...you will see what we mean.

they can also be anti yorkie...at least the were at one time...very hard core maltese people. LOL spoiledmaltese is a much better forum for maltese owners...the ones that have seen the light at least.

I have had one of my post added on to by Jay. It wasn't bad , I had posted something about mills and it was a great post, he must have liked it because he added to it along with a link and pictures. Regardless of what it was I didn't appreciate the fact that he did it. I quit the forum before I reached banned status, got tired of the censorship and arrogance of the forum.

I am thinking about joining just to write that stuff. What pisses me off is I was trolling around there... someone posted about shampoo or whatever and then someone posted "I smell a rat" meaning that the poster who wants to know about shampoo is just trying to rile them up. WHAT?? That seems pretty conceited; who is going to write a post about shampoo just to piss a bunch of strangers off?

you should join and just go about posting like you normally do here. See what happens. They may have lightened up since I last visited the site. I stay away from it now.
