I am going to learn to draw people (honest opionsPLEASE)

I want to learn to draw people. I love to draw but it is usually cartoon.

Anyway, I bought a book to help, and I drew my firsy eye, lips, ear, and nose. (not together) I need honest opions about what to do different.

I am going to draw a whole face later tonight when the kids go to bed, but want some advise first.

Wow! Those are soooo good!!:thumbup: I can't draw for anything!:p The eye & lips look like women's & the nose & ear look like men's to me. Very good!! Can't wait to see the whole face!:D

Thank you, hehe, each drawing was from a different pic. The eye and mouth were both from woman and the ear a man, and the nose was a boy I would guess about 13 -15.

I LOVE the eye! Great job! I was never good at drawing people. And drawing fingers? Forget it! LOL :D

That's a good start....Drawing is a skill that takes lots of practice...keep your sketch book on hand and sketch whenever you have a minute. When my daughter was a baby I used to draw her all the time. My art professors in art school had us draw our hands every day for an entire year. You would be surprised at how much of an improvement happens in that time. Keep on going and I look forward to seeing your progress.:thumbup: :)

Thanks everyone, I haven't drawn in about 2 years and NEVER a person. (unless the cartoon characters count like Belle from Beauty and the beast)

Maybe I should find an art class around here, I have never taken any classes aside from elementry school. I wish I knew someone who could teach me.:confused:
