This is sickening and outrageous! Have you all heard or read about those sick people in Kansas who call themselves Christians and picket the funerals of our soldiers who are killed in Iraq or Afghanistan? I got curious about them and looked them up on the internet. Their website is www.godhatesfags.com! I'd just like to say that they are the fanatical, hate-filled, so-called Christians who give the rest of us a bad name. I hope I don't get suspended for this thread, but I just had to say something about all of this. Whatever one's opinion is on homosexuality and the war, there are many ways of getting your point accross without further hurting the loved ones of these brave soldiers. Last time I checked, God was in the business of love, compassion, healing, grace and forgiveness-----not hate! |
Completely Agree I completely agree with you. I don't believe it is our place to judge another person for anything, especially their sexual orientation. And as for the war, whatever your opinion on the war, you should still support the men and women fighting it. They are risking their lives for our way of life. |

Evidently they are a family of lawyers and know all the loop holes. I guess they try to provoke people in any situation they are in. They make a living out of doing things like this. Really, really messed up folks!!! |
I totally agree that what they are doing is wrong! We had a young man from our area killed in Iraq a few months ago. We heard that they were going to show up at his funeral to protest...well it did NOT happen that way. That group got wind that several chapters of bikers from all over Alabama were going to be there and were going to be lining the roads to make sure that family did not have to deal with such ignorance...and it worked. No one saw hide nor hair of any protestors!!! The bikers got huge satisfaction from knowing that they kept the family from being humiliated at such a sad time. |

Jeeze You know what people are entitled to their opinions but they really should keep it to themselves. Why hurt someone that is already hurting. How hateful can you be that you would set out to hurt someone. I really think that these people are disgusting. |

Those of you reading this Gospel Memorial need to have a very clear understanding that there is a God in heaven, and He has created a hell for people who despise His commandments. If you are living a life where you disregard the commandments of God, like Matthew Shepard did, or if you are supportive of such a lifestyle (either overtly, or through your apathy), you need to repent. And you need to repent now, because God will appear to you when you least expect it, saying "thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee." Luke 12:20. Just like He did to Matthew Shepard. WOW, how can people think like that?! No one deserves what happened to that poor kid,, No One! ANd they praise it...:mad: |
That group is whacked and I can't stand it when someone claims in the name of Christ to justify this crap. What about that "love thy neighbor as thyself"...guess they forgot that one. Another scripture comes to mind.... "judge not, less ye shall be judged". |
I can't even imagine how I would react if I was at a funeral of someone that died at war,and THEY showed up.. that would be UGLY :mad: |

speechless Hello......this was my first & last time looking at their website & I am sitting here shaking with anger..so much anger I am speechless! I just read that their church only has 75 members! Also, the Patriot Guard Riders is a group of bikers that shows up when invited by the family, and literally blocks the view of these idiots from the people attending the funeral! I emailed the Patriot Guard and thanked them and they invited me to join! Apparantly you don't have to have a motorcycle to show up and help! I'm gonna do it! Can y'all picture me and Lexy, Peanut and Cinder all decked out in our red, white, and blue waving the flag with a motorcycle gang????? |
I think it is a terrible terrible thing. I wonder if anyone is protesting at the funerals of their loved ones. They should realize that wether we believe in the war or not that soldier died for everyone in this country. If it hadnt been for all the soldiers before then they wouldnt' have the right to be there to make total a$$es out of themselves. :clapsmile I say way to go to the Patriot guard. :ghug: This country needs a few more people like them. now where's that flag waving icon :usastar: :smileyfla |
I have a friend in the British Army who's served in Iraq. while I am against the war I do not love him any less for serving. The soldiers are doing their job, I admire them for doing something which is so hard and in the face of such negativity. I tell you what if I came across such horrid people here in NZ I would give them what for!! And Eensor I'd be there right by your side with the guard riders! I didn't want to go to the site cos I'd just get all riled and angry!! And it's too nice a day to be brought down by such close-minded bigots! |
