My mothers day present
 
Well I am getting a Monte Carlo for mothers day. It is red with leather seats, sunroof, total power and cool as heck!!! Of course it is a 1997 but a heck of a lot nicer than what I am driving now. I went tonight and test drove it and am going after work to pick it up. We are buying it off of a private individual who got layed off and is forced to get rid of one of his cars and since they have two kids the monte had to go. I have wanted one of these for as long as I can remember. And I have never had a red car. Must be a mid life crisis.

I know seems like you see more red cars pulled over than any other color. And I am going to have to be careful as this car will sh-- and get and you don't even know it. My oldest son is having a stroke that his 42 year old mom is going to be driving a red monte. Thinks I am way too old for that. But he is the one I took with me to check it out and he said it was way too good to pass up. Now i am going to have to buy a yorkie license plate to go on the front of it. When I told my oldest that he rolled his eyes. I told him it was either that or one that said One hot Mama. He decided real quick that one with yorkies on it was not so bad after all. Ha Ha

Well its official now. I have my car. Today was one of the longest days for me. It is a joy to drive. My hubby found out today that he has to have a heart cath on the 5th due to severe blockage. Hopefully when this is done he will feel alot better. If anyone knows where I can find a yorkie license plate or license plate frame let me know. The only bad thing today was it was raining when we went to pick the car up so I couldnt open the sun roof.

I'm glad you got your car! Sorry about your hubby, mine had that at 45 from smoking and had angioplasty with 2 stents put in and he still is smoking at 54!
I got my Yorkie license plate frame from Cafepress. They have quite a few.

Wow awesome! I really like MC's. The leather sounds nice too! I wanted to get a royal blue MC w/ white racing stripes. It was and 1987 and would have been my first car @ 16, but my dad said NO!!! to that pretty quickly.

I'm sorry about your hubby. Good luck to him. I will keep him in my thoughts.

Wow...congrats on your new car! Sounds so nice...you'll have to post pics. I had a red torino many years ago and I don't think I got picked up any more with that than I have with other colors. LOL Enjoy that new car!

I have a '99 red Monte Carlo with sunroof and leather seats that I bought new and I still drive it every day. I think your year is the same model as mine. I have never had any major problems with it, and when you say "go", she "goes", and never thinks about it.... I love it! Enjoy your newly acquired vehicle.

Lord does she go. I am going to have to get used to using the cruise control again or I am sure to get a speeding ticket. Before I got this I drove a 92 Jimmy 4 wheel drive. This car drives so much better. And hopefully will get better gas mileage. My son said next thing I will be bleaching my hair and getting a belly button ring. I told him he didnt need to worry about that I have too much belly for me to get it pierced and I don't like me with blonde hair. Of course it is supposed to be cold and rain all week so unless I want to freeze can't open the sun roof. Happy mother's day everyone. After while I am going to visit my Mom and take my hubby to the cemetary to put flowers on his Moms grave.
