Favorite recipes? ~ Bachelor needs FOOD! Okay, as most of you know I'm a bachelor, my diet consists mostly of pizza, pasta, chinese take out, Raman noodles and sandwiches. I'm a fairly good cook when I want to be and lately I've been in the mood for some 'real' food but am kind of bored with my 'repertoire' and would love some fresh ideas. I would love to know what your favortie recipes are. Especially things like caserols and 'crockpot dishes' and/or things that are easy and make good 'left overs' so I can eat it for a couple of days. Yum Yum!!! |
No, no, no, no. You do not cook, too. You aren't real are you? You are a bunch of woman playing with peoples' minds. You love yorkies, you are single, you have a boat, and now you want us to believe you can cook too? Sorry, nope, don't believe it. But, just in case you do, one that's really easy and my family loves it: Shepards Pie 1lb ground beef (or turkey if you are eating healthy), browned and drained 1 lg can of peas and carrots, drained 1 lg can of creamed corn Mashed potatoes. (left over or even instant taste ok with this, though I hate instant otherwise) PAM a casserole dish, layer meat, then peas and carrots, then corn. Top off with mashed potatoes, spread to the edges of the dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Dang, now I'm hungry! |
LOL! I didn't say I DO cook (all that often) but yes I CAN cook. For my last Valenitines day when I was married, I made Lobster Thermador, YUMMMMM! And you're not going to beleive this but I have actually been thinking about looking for a recipe for shepherds pie! That is too weird! Dang, I'm hungry now too!!!! |

Do a search, there was recently a thread for just this thing. There were some great ideas on there. |
Yummy that shepards pie sounds good. I wrote down the recipe |
Go to www.foodtv.com and look at 30 min meals or just watch the food channel, I get a lot of easy, quick ideas off of there. |

CHICKEN BOG (4) chicken breasts (1) kilbassa sausage (4 to 5) bags of boil in bag rice salt and pepper to taste (1) bottle of Parka spray butter - the one that has 0% fat - This is a must, you cannot use reg. butter. If you have never tried this butter then you need to! (1) can of chicken broth (optional) banna peppers - Boil 4 chicken breasts (frozen or fresh but skinless) - keep the broth in the pot and remove chicken - add cut up kilbassa and 4 bags of boil in bag rice - tear up chicken and add it after the rice and is done - you may need to add more rice if it's still watery or you may need to add some of the can of chicken broth if it's to dry - mix together and salt and pepper to taste When you put it into your bowl then you want to pour some of the spray on butter on it. (It just add some extra flavor to it) If you like banna peppers then you can add some of those also. Thisi is a simple recipe and it's lasts a few days. My husband and I fix it alot Crystal |

Oh, you poor babee...these are some silly and dense women replying to your thread....you come on over, and I'll fix you dinner. Then hit the couch after. You can sit on my lap or snuggle real close....I mean Kirby, Kirby can .....;) LOL. Required disclaimer....calm down...I was kidding...well, about the fixing supper part. Here ya go.... 1 pkg boneless chicken breast 1 pkg frozen mixed veggies 2 cans chicken broth 3 bay leaves 1 pkg egg noodles 2 cans cream of chicken soup Cut up the chicken into bit size pieces, throw (manly cooking term) into the crock pot w/ veggies, broth, and bay leaves (you can leave these out, you're a man, you probably don't have bay leaves  ) Cook on low 8-10. Pour egg noodles in crock pot....takes 30-45 minutes to cook these....add the cream of chicken soup. Quantity....enough for at least 3 days. :) |
