Help!! I'm having to classify BUGS... So I'm doing a bug collection for a Bio. class..... Does anyone have tips on classifying them?? I'm totally lost and confused. I have about 22 but after 8 they are extra credit, and the 8 have to be from different orders... Any hints on how to go about this????? |
 not me! have fun! |
 oh god that's horrible. i remember when i did bugs back in intro to bio. it was not fun and i hated it because bugs creep me out. good luck! |
how about one of those tri-fold science fair boards and hot glue the little boorgers on the board and then type up the classification info and glue that on the board? |
I have a gazillion bugs, I'd be happy to contribute. You can come out to the arm and I won't even charge you anything for taking the little fellas off the place.:D |
I did that A LONG time ago. Definately do the extra credit, I found it really easy. Don't make it too hard on yourself. Just use the internet and come as close as possible. Here is a good site. http://insects.tamu.edu/fieldguide/ Just don't make simple mistakes and do not use the following because they are NOT insects and you would probably be counted against on the following: spiders, mites, ticks, and milipedes. Use that website for some ideas and it should give you lots of help! I used a big stirafoam box and pinned needles into the insects and wrote what they were underneath. Good luck. Let us know how you do! |
Thanks everyone!! My brother just came home for the summer from college, so I'm making him pin them down for me lololol... His new name is the bug plastic surgeon (he's 3/4 for accidently popping their heads off...) I'm half way done and it's due on Monday... arg!!!! I gotta find bugs from 4 more orders *bleh* |
