Yall Im scared.. I really need some prayers right now. :(

When I moved here with my mom and dad from Romania in Nov 1990 under a 6 month visitation visa, we filed for political asylum because Romania was a communist country. Well, in Jan of 1991 they changed to a democratic gov. However..we've been "pending political asylum" since then. We pay taxes and have worker's authorization cards so were not illegal, but we're not residents..we dont have a greencard. My mom just called me and said that we got four notices in the mail telling us to go down to the Immigration Office in Atlanta for them to take our pictures and fingerprints. We dont know if this is a good thing or a bad thing yet. PLEASE PLEASE send some prayers our way..Im freaking out right now..Ive been here since I was 6 and its all I have ever known.. :(

It's all going to be OK!! It's the heightened immigration awareness thing happening. I can't imagine this is going to turn out bad.

Have you considered getting a US citizenship?

I HAVE to believe this is a good thing ? ALL THE BEST TO YOU and try not to worry TOO much - I can't believe our government would do anything bad to you ...especially since you came from Romania - I would hope our govt would never send anyone back to Communism....:( GOOD LUCK !

Weve been trying to get citizenship since we filed for political asylum..but our file has been chillin until now..our laywer said that she thinks the finally came up to our file and will make a decision on whether or not we get a greencard..

Vee- They wouldnt send us back to Romania if it was still a communist country, but it's not anymore..

Thanks for letting me know that and I SHOULD have known that - but it's still scary for you and I HAVE to think they are just documenting you with the request to go to Immigration - I WISH YOU THE BEST !! Try not to worry too much !

Okay Hun, calm down. I can tell you this sounds like something that just happened to my dad, and he is an immigrant (legal). He got a letter saying he needed to go to Charlotte, NC and have his fingerprints, and iris scanned. Everything was okay. You'll be okay. I think this is a good thing. Hang in there!!:thumbup: :thumbup:

I'll bet they just "got around" to your files! Try not to worry ... we will be praying that everything will go smoothly. If there is anything at all we can do, you know you need only ask. ;)

I so wish they would finalize all those legitimate, "pending", above board cases such as your families and focus on all those who are just "sneaking" into our country and not even bothering to apply for citizenship! I find it very hard to believe that in some cases, people who have applied for citizenship nearly 20 years ago, are still waiting to become citizens!
