You know Kim - I think it's actually sad that a woman her age has to be so hateful - when you get up in years like that ...THE SHOULD BE THE TIME TO LAUGH and enjoy life - you don't have much left ya know ? Feel sorry for her - she just sounds miserable ...and maybe she really is unhappy in her real life and that's the only way she knows how to be ? and if all else fails - I did like the Broom idea:p |

I know that when I had quoted something incorrectly, one of her friends made the statement that being corrected should have made me more humble. It was an honest mistake (which I acknowledged) and I had spoken too quickly without actually doing the research (I had LOTS of stuff going on that day). Anyway, her friend jumped right in there with her and made her statement. Hey, I'm not about to whack anybody!!! Sure is tempting at times, but bologna and eggs and two-toned turkey just doesn't sit well with me!:D |

Kimberley - your post reminded me SO much of this awful Temp job I had. I worked in an office FULL of women. Back then - the skirts were above the knee and not short like they are now (which I LOVE) but back then - my skirts were ABOVE the knee ....but not 'short' if you know what I mean. Well guess what. YUP....the 'women' didn't like the way I dressed. I got called into the Managers office & was told they were complaining. WHAT DID THEY CARE what I wore ? anyway - long story short - I received a warning. I didn't reform and continued to wear my own clothes that I had for OFFICE WORK ....and I was FIRED ! lol ! I'd never been fired in my life:eek: but I'll tell you this - I stood my ground and didn't cave to the small petty minds.... and the job really SUCKED anyway....so it all worked out for the best:D and I didn't have to buy anyone a Broom ! |

Mean people suck. Period. :thumbdown The old 'kill them with kindness' is good, but if it's not working, document it with HR. It's called a hostile work environment and it's against the law! |
OMG:eek: this is so funny, i cant stop laughing.....just tell her that she shouldnt moan so much and she ought to enjoy the time she got left..... :D No no...dont say that.... THere is always one at work i am afraid....just take no notice...and smile at everything she says.... My last boss, omg, he hated me, and it was so hard...if i did something he would tell me to do it again...he was pick pick pick...in the end i thought, hell to you mr.... He use to brag that he got where he was by hard work, he left school with no qulifications and all the rest of it... I told him that he was a brown nose...and i would challege him to an IQ test anyday....I told him to be respected, you have to respect others, as he had none for me, i have none for him.....anyway he got married, and i was the only one without an invite :( He left, i stayed, and that was that....i just use to look at him....if he made a remark...id just look....he never ever got the better of me....the girls use to laugh at me....but it is sooooooo hard when you have a bad egg in the workplace.. The comments are so funny though :) :) :) |
Kimberly, Tomorrow when she start in talking non sense. Look at her and say " I prayed for you last night that you would get a life". Turn around and walk off. Then look up at the ceiling and say, Lord I need you to answer this pray! Poor woman, has no life! |

Don't forget....Rhonda can get you one cheap....;) |
I'm sorry you have to work with someone like this. When I used to get upset over similar circumstances, my mother always told me that if they're talking about you, they're leaving someone else alone...lol...which is so true about people like that. I'm one to agree with 'killing her with kindness' and not lowering yourself to her level . Someone like that absolutely THRIVES on drama and animosity...just ignore her and when you HAVE to speak to her, do so with kindness and smiles.. I know it's difficult, but one has to feel sorry for someone like her...she probably lives a very lonely/sad existance...I think she and people like her deserve our pity. It's a shame that she couldn't take all of this energy she uses gossiping and put it to better use..like a good cause or two...Imagine all the good she could do with all of that mis-spent energy (and time!!!) |
