Any allergy sufferers out there? Here's the deal. I have at least 6 sore throats a year that snowball into full blown sinus infection and bad bronchial infection with cough. My hubby said I need to go to an allergist...he thinks it may be allergies causing the drip that causes the sore throat that causes all the other crap. Do any of you suffer allergies and have these symptoms? The sore throat is the worst and lasts a couple of days. It is like blisters in my throat and very painful to swallow...also a low grade fever. Very aggravating actually...especially this time of the year! |
go see a doctor. i'm not sure if plain old seasonal allergies should snowball into such a horrible ordeal. |

That definitely sounds like allergies...you should probably go to an Allerigist...Nasonex works pretty good...prevents the stuffed nose that turns into a sore throat, which turns into a bronchial infection..(been there) Francie |

Before you think I'm just a whackjob, I am a yoga instructor. I also have allergies and daily I use a Neti Pot. Been using it now for two years, if I forget one morning, I feel the difference during the day. It is a genie lamp looking thing with a long narrow spout. You will with warm water and a special non-idozied salt, pour in one nostril and let run out the other. Then repeat for the other nostril. I know it sounds totally disgusting but takes all of 2 minutes and will really keep the sinus passages clean. Takes care of everything from allergies, helps relieve stuffiness during colds, and signifantly reduces post nasal drip. Do a goggle search on Neti Pot for more information. |
Yep, Me and Mike both have allergies, i suffer most of the summer and change of seasons when there is alot of pollen in the air, the only thing that i found that helped us was Clairton D 24 hour pills.... |
i had a really bad sore throat with a mild fever recently. i thought it was an allergy or flu or cold. went to the doctor to have it checked out. it turned out to be strep throat and i was in need of antibiotics. so have yourself checked out would be best. |
Omg....i Think I Am Having Allergies Now. I Have Been Coughing For Two Weeks Straight W No Fever And No Congestion. It Is A Pain!!!!! What Does Your Primary Doctor Think?? If Your Insurance Pays For It, Then I Would Do It |

The Neti Pot is fabulous! I've been using it for a year...it makes a HUGE difference! And the good part...no drugs! Francie |
Allergies!!!! YUP!! That's how I spent my Easter.... not breathing... Luckily it was over and done with in about 5 days... I could barely sleep because I couldn't breathe. I try to spend time with the dogs outside later in the day hoping the pollen count isn't as high.... I heard if you rinse your nose out with water (or saline solution)... it's supposed to keep the sinuses cleared. Just know you are not alone!!!! ;) |
Girl, I am so sorry you are still feeling bad! It sounds like you got some awesome advice here. Hope you get better soon, and I think the allergist is a great idea. Wosie and Dreama send puppy kisses, :kiss4: and share some of Wosie's with Oscar, kiss4: OK? :getwellso : |
