Disneyland nightmare I can't believe this. So much for the happiest place on earth... I am so po'd right now. For my bday at the beginning of February my folks took me to disneyland for my bday, only because mom was there for work and dad tagged along and so dad wanted me to go. Anyway, we bought all this stuff, 5 sweatshirts, a coat, shipped home a giant pooh bear, etc. When I got home, the sweatshirt we got for my youngest still had the friggin ink filled security tag on it. I've been everywhere around here such as the mall and nobody can get it off. I called Disneyland who said mail it back, etc. I did. I got a call today saying they need the receipt, which I don't have. I explained gift from my folks, no receipt. They were like oh well. Then they wanted my moms credit card to track the purchase, I said no. She then wanted my mom's statement, again no. So now we are at an impass. I can't believe this. I finally popped off and said like I stole it, flew home and mailed it back to you. How stupid would that be? She wouldn't budge. I finally had the attorney I work for talk to her, nothing. We have a call in to the supervisor. I can't believe this. Customer service my butt and from Disneyland.... |
That sucks! It was their dumb fault in the first place! |
That does sound like a nightmare! I am so sorry that you had to go through this, maybe you will get them straightened out! |
Try to get it off using a really strong magnet. (That's how they take them off to begin with. ) Or, wrap the side with the ink in a plastic bag (just in case) and burn the other side with a lighter. (I swear, I am NOT a habitual clothes theif...I used to work retail and had to report items stolen and how we suspected alarms were removed if and when we'd find them laying in the store.) |
That is a bummer. Maybe once you talk to the supervisor, he'll relize you are right and you can get a freeby of something else. You need to be compinsated some how for all the hassle!! |
I'd try BamaFan's option(s)! |
oh brother.....like it's really going to affect their bottom line taking that tag off for you. Now I've heard it all - that is really BAD Customer service for REAL. I would email Mickey Mouse - I bet you get a better response from him...Wait - maybe GOOFY can help ? |
If you still have it, try taking it to a flea market. A lot (NOT ALL, I am not trying to upset anyone ;) ) of that stuff is stolen so those guys should know how to get security tags off :D But I take it you mailed it to them already, right? |

Well....you could always make a short sleeved sweatshirt out of it!! (Depending on where the stupid tag is!!) Suz |

Underneath the hood where it would rub on her neck. |
Did they ship it to your home from Disney? I know we have bought big things before and for a fee they will handle all the shipping. If so, maybe they could look up where they shipped it and they would have all the info they need. I'm not trying to make you mad, but I always try to look at both sides of the story, and you have to understand their side if you don't have the receipt. I am always losing the receipts, but if I could show them where it was on my credit card statement, I would do that in a heartbeat to get everything taken care of. If it was charged to your Mom's credit card why wouldn't you want to give them that information to get this all resolved? I know you didn't do anything wrong and you didn't steal from them, but you have to understand there are hundreds of people out there everyday that do. Hopefully you will be able to get this taken care of :) |
That sucks. Hopefully, the rest of your trip went well. |

Yeah, it was fun, except it was a tad chilly in the evenings, of course which is when dad and I went on the water rides. brrr He ended up with pneumonia and I got really sick too. LOL |
Ya know, I'm going to WDW in 2 weeks (15 days to be exact :D ) and this is NOT giving me a warm fuzzy right now... :( |
