Gas prices Is it just me or are gas prices getting rediculous!? I remember when I could fill up for like ten bucks!! Here..they range from $2.63-$2.75..CRAZY!! What are they like where you're at!? |
Yes its getting to be outrageous! Gas prices here are 2.59. I used to be able to put 10.00 in gas and I could go for miles and miles! Now it takes a good $55 dollars just to fill up the tank! |
Gas prices in the Phoenix area are between $2.52 at Sams Club to about $2.75. I drive a Durango so I am definitely feeling the pain! |

I bought a Jeep Cherokee last year and everyone thought that I was nuts for buying an SUV when the gas prices are so high but really its not that bad on gas mileage. I fill up my tank and it last a week sometimes a week and a half depending on what i do during the week! |

I have no regrets in buying my SUV. It just stings a little when it costs over $75.00 to fill it up because it doesn't get good gas mileage. I too can go about a week or longer on a full tank but $300.00 a month isn't easy on the budget but I think it's reality for a long time to come. |
Here in NJ they are about $2.59 -$2.69 for regular....... |
And I was wondering... How come people aren't getting alarmed or upset about the prices like they did after Katrina?? I think we just get acustomed to the fact that every summer gas prices just go up :( , so the oil companies take advantage of this to gouge us and take our hard earned money at the pump so they can make outrageous profits!!! I for one am SICK of it!! I am very thankful that my car gets about 30 miles to the gallon!! Thanks for starting this thread!! Obviously I needed to get that off my chest, lol!! :p |
2.59? I'd be more than happy to have that price. I filled up yesterday and paid $2.92!!!!! I have a small car but I can still feel the difference! It's absolutely ridiculous! grrrr......... |
I agree with you Glad! Why aren't people OUTRAGED by the gas prices and why aren't they speaking up??? I KNOW lots of people who are having a terrible time with their budget due to the prices of gas. And it is affecting everything because fuel costs to transport goods is increasing the costs of everything. I'm sure it will affect the tourist industry, especially this summer. I guarantee there are lots of people who won't be taking their usual vacation or won't be able to go as far, due to the prices. I keep hearing that airline tickets are getting ready to soar due to fuel costs. I just don't understand why the public is not speaking out more about this??? It's terrible!!! |
I for one dont understand WHY they are going up right now.. I mean, after Katrina, I understood that alot of the nations gas pumps were from that region and were destroyed..but now..whats the reason?? Cause its summer? BULL HONKEY! |
I payed $2.91 for regular unleaded two days ago. I think gas is always higher in the bay area. :( |
Yeah, they are CRAZY here.. Anywhere from 2.69-2.94 for regular!! That's an outrage! I'm going to buy a horse soon!! ROFL |
I AM outraged. $3.07 |
Gas here is $2.89 - $3.07. Let me tell ya we feel it. We have my husbands truck, my car and two of our boys cars, we pay for their gas because they are in school. It's a lot but we have to have it, my husband has to get around to work, I have to take the kids to school, and the boys have to get to school. They say it will get higher by the summer, but it's something we have to have. After Katrina, yea it went up, but we all knew why. Every summer it goes up, no we don't understand that, and there's really nothing we can do about it. We could have everyone stop buying gas, but where would we be then? If we don't go to work or school because we can't get there, who will feed our children, pay our bills? (you know if we don't pay our bills we can't be here on YT) So really we are all stuck with it. Yea we can be mad about it, only being mad will get us no where, just leads to a bad day. Too bad we don't all have money trees in our back yards. I think everyone could use one! :2hearts2: |
We can be upset at our country's dependence on foreign oil and becuase we have become dependent on foreign oil. I come from an area of the U.S. that is rich in oil and gas deposits - but instead of drilling and bringing it up - we have bought from foreign producers. We can be upset because our country has not done enough to develop alternative fuel sources and our car manufacturers have not done enough to develop engines that run longer on less fuel. We can be mad about how our cities have been developed - in most subdivisions, you can't walk to the grocery store or to any other services that you might need. We don't have neighborhood schools, for the most part, so that kiddos could walk (and in many places, it is too dangerous to walk). In my city, they are trying to build a few apartment complexes and some neighborhoods that have groceries, cafes, dry cleaners, etc etc, within walking distance so people are not so dependent on cars to get everywhere. Most mid size cities don't have adequate mass transit systems and most of us are so used to having access to our cars, that we don't want to use public transportation - however, I'm beginning to think seriously about it. There are lots of things, that we could/should do to reduce dependence on oil - especially foreign oil! With the price of gas skyrocketing - we will have to do just that - look for alternative ways to live our lives, less dependent on oil. |
