I'm a Licensed Vocational Nurse and soon to be Mom. Im not working right now, but after I have the baby in end of july or beginning of august, i'm going back to school for my RN. ;) and im going to be doing website projects on the side.

I am the VP of clinical services (nurse) for long term care facilities in several states. Many think working with the elderly to be depressing but truly it is an amazing job...if it weren't for the federal government interfering with us doing our jobs it would be the absolute best profession to go into.

What you are describing sounds like what my stepmother moved into. She trains people to interview for jobs, does job skill testing and general studies with adults....she loves it, prior to that she taught certification classes for htose searching for asbestos. She loves it.

Tomorrow we have claims to work in Birmingham, Parrish and Tuscaloosa...there is a lot of damage down that way. They called today and asked if we can work some up in Tennessee as well. It was really bad up there as well. That was a bad old storm for sure!

To bad I am not in Birmingham tomorrow, was there yesterday and will be in Greensboro at least part of the day .... otherwise it would be nice to meet. I will pm you my cell # and if I make it back to Tuscaloosa and you have the time we can plan a "meet up"

Don't work for the State
 
I am an Environmental Scientist working for the State of Florida. Looking for a new job can't stand the gov. setting nor my bosses who think I lie and steal even though I get all 5 on performance reviews, get all work done on time and have yet to ask them why after 2 yrs no raise or promotion when someone who has been at the job for 6 months gets promoted. Also have a PR degree...soo if anyone knows of any science or communication jobs pm me...Please Willing to work in Fl, NC,SC,VA as far up as Williamsburg, and Ga

anyway, i conduct human chemosensory research, specifically olfaction. past studies have included trigeminal irritation, reducing agricultural malodors, sexual orientation and perception of odors, etc. however, the PhD i work with likes to focus on human attraction via chemical signaling and i have found that my interest in that area has been increasing as a result. our current research involves genetic basis of odor perception.

Until I had my daughter, I was a flight attendant. And up until about 2 weeks ago I was a stay at home mom. My husband and I are starting our own carpentry business! So now I am running that and a mom to a beautiful 5 year old, Hannah!

I am still in school. The good news is I only have a year left. In a year, I will get my associates degree as a licensed vet tech! Right now, I mainly work in grooming, obedience training, however I am considering to change over to work at a vet clinic. My dogs are my children. :D

envrobear -- I hear ya on everything you said sister. I work my a$$ off and haven't gotten a raise in 3 years even though I am undoubtedly one of the best and hardest working employees.

I wish I got a paycheck lol..i work my arse off. I know i get lots of glory or so they tell me (i have 3 teens that can hate me at least every other day lol) but for all the work i do it'd be nice to have a little shoppin money lol..

Cashier at a dealershop service department...I feel your pain. Sadly though? The one woman we have working as an advisor makes the most mistakes and throws anyone and everyone under the bus. :mad:
