Wow, you are all great, my goof ball husband just giggled and said, "I think it is so cute that you take it so personal". :p I was so upset though, I felt like I really over stepped my boundries. As for her husband, I think he was really embarrassed by his wife, he just kinda whispered, shut up. Anyway, I just really hope she realizes I wasn't being snarky or anything. {{{HUGS}}} to all of you...  |
You did the right thing. my daughter is having her first baby in Oct and you cant say anything without her getting mad or crying. So it wasnt what you said or did. I think you did the right thing. God bless you for it. |
Tricia .... good job!! Sorry the lady reacted that way, but regardless, I too am a firm believer in "Pay it Forward"!!! :) [I love that movie!] I know how you feel ... some days I have felt like I am "paid up"!!! Keep up the good work! ;) |
You did nothing wrong. I think that is was just a very kind caring gesture on your part. By the way I loved the moive pay it forward. On a side note. Just to let everyone know that under the new HIPPA laws if you were covered under your previous company's medical insurance the new company has to cover existing conditions on the new policy. All you need is the certificate of coverage from the previous employer. |
Trust me, you did nothing wrong. I'm sure her hormones, stress and probably slight embarassment got the best of her. I faced a very similar situation when I was pregnant with my daughter...health insurance got dropped and we were responsible for every bill to come along. (Can you say 35,000 total :( ) I remember it was very embarassing to mention these things and the need for help to others because I felt like they looked at me like a sorry, irresponsible, soon-to-be mother who couldn't even take care of herself. :( You did...or tried to do...something very noble and honest. I am a strong believer in Karma and I am sure the lady will one day realize...when she is in the postition you are in now...what your true intentions were. :) |
Oh that was so sweet of you! I'm sorry that she reacted like that! I hope that doesn't make you second guess youself next time you think about opening your heart and generosity up to someone. |
I think that you did the right thing and maybe she was just having a bad day! |
Hey, you tried. What a whack job. Maybe it's the hormones. |
That was a very nice offer. And if she didn't want you to think of her as charity or something like that then why in the world was she talking to you about the cost. Hey I think you were trying to do a good deed hear. Ungrateful people I would say. |

Sherrylynn- Aw that was nice of you. One day at the store I was short on cash. I was buying groceries. I told the clerk to put a few items back and the kind man behind me said "give me what money you have and i'll pay the rest" even though it was like $6 more..i thought that was the kindest most generous thing anyone has ever done for me. I will never for get that! I told him "May god bless you...that was very kind of you" and I walked away. |
    You have a heart of gold. I'm sure her hormones were kicking in. And with the stress of her husbands new job with out medical, did'nt help. I bet she's sitting having lunch right now saying "WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!" You tried to help, that's what really matters. :2hearts2: |
