Scary day at school! While you're reading this, you may want to keep in mind that I live in a very small town..and nothing like this ever really happens here... So it all started yesterday in school. We had gone to our lockers, the last bell had just rung. All of the sudden all the teachers are telling us to get out of the school right away. They made sure we were all on our way home, and that's all we knew. There were a bunch of rumors spreading around about what could have happened. Today, in the morning, they told us that they found a bomb threat written in the bathroom. and thats why they had us leave. Today, around 11 the principal came over the loud speaker and made an announcement to evacuate the building, and told the teachers to bring everyone to the younger kids' school. (a few blocks away) We got there, and they told us that another note was in the bathroom. We were there until like 2 o' clock. they had bomb sniffing dogs and everything at the school. They evacuated the entire street! Then they told us it was safe to go back. While the teachers had us all walking back, we saw a bunch of what I guess was a screen name painted like everywhere. The police said they're going to look into that, and there's going to be cops at the school every day until they make sure all is well. It didn't bother me much until like a little while ago. Thinking about it a lot isn't exactly the best idea.... |
wow that is scary Megan! I hope everything goes okay, and they figure out what is going on! |
Wow Megan! That is HORRIBLE. My school had been getting bomb threats for a while. I lived in a small town too, we had to walk about 2 miles away to an open grassy area and sit down for hours. Our school is connected to the grade school, so they had to go too, about 1200 students all together. Then it started happening again, someone would call bomb threats into the school. They finally traced the calls to a payphone outside of a casey's general store. They looked on the store's security cam at around that time and caught the kid who was doing it. The kid was doing it to get out of school. It is a VERY rotton thing to do. He scared a lot of parents and kids and they just kept tacking the lost days to the end of the schoolyear's emergency days. I hope that someone catches the person who is doing this at your school. The person is robbing the students of their feeling of security and an education. That is so terrible. I am glad that your school is taking the threats seriously. I hope they catch the kid who is doing it ASAP! |

I can imagine the scare! I'm sorry this is happening at your school... the people in this world are going crazy! I hope all will be sorted out real soon! You are suppose to have FUN at high school and enjoy your highschool time. |
Megan, I am so sorry!! I know how unsettling these things are, even though they turn out to be a hoax. I couldn't believe it when I read your post because the very same thing happened at Kayla's [16 yr. old granddaughter] high school in Oxford, Alabama yesterday!!! I think this is becoming quite common although we just don't hear about them. It has happened so often at Kayla's school the last few years that now it's just an aggravation for them ... but we are so thankful that the school system takes every single crank call seriously!! Just tolerate it and always, always follow their instructions ... maybe someday those sickos who do this will just crawl back under their rock!!! ;) |
Megan....I know we're all just grateful it was a scare. The world is getting sicker by the day. I agree with you...try NOT to think about it. You have enough to worry about in class and put those sicko's out of your mind girl.... HUGS to you sweetie....and your mom too. |
That is so scary for you. Just be extra observant and report any thing that seem's odd. It ts probably a hoax but it doesn't hurt to be careful. |
Oh Megan, I am so sorry you had such a scare. I am sure that the officials will sort this out and make sure you guys are all safe. They don't take this kind of thing lightly and I am confident that they will do everything neccessary to secure everything for you. Keep us updated and try not to let it get to you. |
How scary Megan! When I was in highschool a few years ago, we started getting bomb threats all the time! It was so scary, we live in a small town too, so it was a big surprise to me as well! |
Megan I am so sorry that you had to go through something like this. It is a shame that there a such sick people in our world today. Glad to see that the school is taking this seriously. |
Oh bless your heart!!! I will keep in in my prayers. May your guardian angel be watching over you EVERY day !!!! My sisters school had one when she was a freshman. She is 21 now, but I can still remember hearing that news! Very scary situation for me, but I know it was even scarier for you and her. I will be praying for yours and your friends safety daily! Amanda |
This is a very unfair situation to be in, some people are so crazy now. Try not to think about it too much Megan, its probably someone trying to get out off class but the school is best to keep on the safe side and evacuate until they find the culprit, hopefully they will realsie that it's not avery smart thing to do.Take care Julie |
oh no!!! Megan I'm so glad you are safe!!!! Sound to me like someone goes to school just to eat his lunch!!!!! I sure hope they catch him. Hoax or no hoax, you should always feel safe at your school. Keep your eye's and ears open girl, Iv'e sent an Angel to watch over you!!!! :2hearts2: |
oh gosh! Be safe, probably some kids wanting to get out of school early! What a horrible prank! :idontknow |
I'm glad you and your classmates are safe! My highschool (eons ago...) also had a bomb threat and we had to evacuate. I know that feeling; it's horrible. Then, three seniors decided to play a prank (I was a sophomore, I think) and blew up this old drinking-water-fountain on the quad where students often populated during breaks. That was 10 ft away from me. It was horrific and intense! Quite a few students got hurt and several had third degree burns. What a "prank"... Idiots. |
Wow thanks god it was fake !! |
Thanks everyone. Today, it was the talk of the school. Everything was normal today, well, for the most part. (we were all insane because it's the last day before spring break lol) and they only had one bathroom open (that's where they kept finding the notes) and only one person could go in at a time..etc. They won't keep it up forever, but it'll help for a while of course. A bunch of people (myself included) were a little apprehensive about going to school today, but all is well. :) |

Geeez! What's wrong with people??? That is a criminal act and if they find out who did it, there will be LOTS of trouble for them! |
oh yeah they will definitly be punished thoroughly! my super-intendent. (used to be principal, is the coolest person ever) looked into the screen name that's painted everywhere because today they found it on the side of the school. She found it on myspace, and sure enough its someone who goes to our school. She's going to look into that some more. I feel really bad for my friend, Joey, though. He's the one who reported it the first day. Naturally, they have to look into it to make sure it wasn't actually him who did it, but I think they went a little too far with suspecting him. They called him down to the office and had him there for like an hour (probably asking him questions) when he came back to class you could tell he had been crying. then yesterday, during the evacuation they broke his lock to get into his locker to make sure there wasn't anything in there. I think if I were him, I'd be worried to report something if this is how they reacted to him! I know they're trying to keep us safe..but still... |
