New Virus Alert. Ebay OK..just wanted you all to know that if you get a thing from ebay from a seller stating that you are the highest bidder on this auction #_________ and you need to contact me asap as how you will pay for the item. DO NOT RESPOND!!!! It is a virus and will destroy your whole computer. Thankfully i have my computer protected up the A$$ so it asked me and warned me before proceeding. Thank God i listened to my gut. I instantly sent it to spoof@ebay.com. This is the new thing now since everybody is pretty much on ebay. Let me tell you i about had a heartache when i was talking to my husband on the phone and received the email about me being the highest bidder to winning a 2000 EXCURSION   and needing my info on how iwas going to pay!! I just about fell out the chair. People SUCK!! |
omg i wish i could have seen the look on your face! I bet it was priceless! I will definetly keep that in mind if I get something like that! |
yeah. I am pretty sure my heart skipped a beat and i hung up on my husband! :D :D |
Thanks for the heads up! |
This is my advise to anyone - never, ever click through to ebay through your email. Go to the website directly and then log in. If what you received is real your ebay page will tell you. Scammers are very good at making it look real and are picking up $$$ all the time from people. |
Thanks for the heads up! I got an e-mail last week, e-bay looking for sellers. I didn't open it. I only open mail from people I know, I'm sure I'm missing lots of mail, but if you didn't tell me you were e-mailing, you got deleted. :p |
Good advice.  I knew that already but thought i'd give the heads up!! :D :D because im just sweet like that!! :D |
I got that email too, and so did one of my friends.. I deleted it. She clicked it and nothing happened. I agree with Cindy, never respond to any of those or ones from Paypal, I get those too, I always forward to ebay and paypal, so they know what's new. |

    When I win a bid on e-bay, I'm on line at the time. I use PayPal right away, so they never have any reason to e-mail me. Way to many scammers out there. It's scary!!!   |
I too have had these emails and have also sent them to spoof  |
Thanks for telling us as I use ebay shopping or use to alot... |
You can set your email preferences on eBay for HTML only. You will not receive emails from either eBay nor Paypal with any graphics displayed in them. Or you can simply go to my messages on your my eBay page. Anything sent to you by eBay will show up there too. I delete every email that says it's from either source..... |
