I've finally done it, given my work reason to suspect my internet surfing, well mainly YT surfing :eek: One of my managers was like "Hey on that data sheet of that one commercial, under comments there is some kind of website address called www.yorkietalk.com along with some numbers and the word thread. Do you know what that is about?" I was like "umm not really, I probably just copied and pasted on accident, sorry about that" Turns out I copied and pasted that thread in an email to a friend, and forgot the copy the comments I needed for the commercial, and pasted the thread instead. I hope he didn't go to the site...lol PHEW, I don't think he suspected much, he just laughed like he knew which was one us was the bigger idiot. If I get fired Dan has to hire me to do something :eek: |

O crap!! :eek: Something similar happened to me last week. My students were working quietly, and I was on my computer on YT. Well, I had to go to the bathroom really bad, so I looked in the hallway for someone to watch my room, and my principal was out there. I said, "Could you watch my kids, I really need to use the ladies room?" Well, when I was in the bathroom, all I could think about was, 'man I hope he isn't looking at my computer.' Well, low and beyold, HE WAS!!! When I walked in, he was like, "YorkieTalk? What's that?" I said, "Oh, just a forum I'm on." Then he went on to tell me a joke about some dog. Man, I could have been busted!!! But I had a story ready just in case he 'got' me later. "Oh, Rob, my students wanted to see my new house and I had it on my avatar, so I was showing them that." Good excuse, right??? LOL But, he never asked me, so I couldn't use it. :rolleyes: |
You guys are silly. They already know. Most of the time if performance it there no big deal. Depending on the size of your company and the fire wall. Your boss gets reports from the server. The reports are on bandwidth usage by user. Top 10 sites accessed by user. How much time on the site by user. Most fire walls provide all of this information and more. |
with my last employer they were terrible about where you went on the internet because it attached the company's name to what ever it attaches it to. i would have been fired right a way.....ya'll are lucky you can do this. |
I work at a huge global corporation. We're a consumer products company. So they probably have been monitoring me for months :eek: Well I get my work done, but still, it was scary. For a second my heart dropped into my pants and I was quickly scrambling to find an excuse, but he just laughed it off. |

I do, but now I feel like I am going to be watched. I will have to make sure I'm not pasting the threads. Lord knows how many I've done that to but only been caught once. They probably assume it's someone else making mistakes, cause they really like me. They might be in denial...hehe |
