Any nurses out there, medical question..
 
As you might remember, a month or so ago, I posted that I had to have the laprosopy surgery, which everyone told me it was not a big deal.. So it is scheduled to happen tomorrow at 10 am. Which may or may not turn into me being opened up and removing my ovary, ( which I just love the fact of waking up and not knowing what happened. :eek: .. BUT as of Tues. I was freezing cold, body aches and swollen gland on the left... Today I feel about the same. Like I have been hit by a truck, OF course I'm at work, cause I'm SO dedicated. SO my Dr is going to be calling me back to see if they should reschedule of just do it... I want it to be over with and done, and not have to reschedule... Any advise... If I'm gonna feel like crap get it all done at the same time.. :confused:

I am no dr but I hope that everything turns out ok! I will be thinking of you let us know how everything turns out!

the problem is if you are sick the anesthesilogist won't put you under. Are you running a fever?

For the last two nights I have awoken to burning up, sweating.. but that's the only time. Of Course when I went to bed I was FREEZING and turned the electric blanket on 10.

Well, there ya go...if you can do it without anesthesia...you're good to go :eek:

Your Doc will make the final call. I know you are bummed because you want to get it over with, but surgery is stressful enough on the body, you don't want to be battling illness, too. You want to have all of your strength to get well. Good luck!

I am in school to become an RN and I can tell you this much when you went bed freezing you were prob running a fever, you probably woke up sweating not from the blanket, but b/c your fever broke! Now that being said the doctor will probably wait to do the surgery! Unless he checks you and the fever is/has been gone for 24 hrs. and all is well! The reason I say that is b/c even if there is a way to do it without going under you are supposed to be fever free for 24 hrs. before any surgery unless it is life or death and you run the risk of getting an infection!

I would think if you are sick especially if you are running a fever that they would want to reschedule. You may have some type of bacteria infection that you need antibiotics for. I\'m not a nurse but, I would be checking in with my doctor.

I talked to the nurse this morning, and she was going to talk with my doctor and get back to me, and said they might want me to come over and check me out... that was at 10 am.... no call back yet.... :( I\'m gonna call them pretty soon, this NOT KNOWING is driving me nuts.

UPDATE~
They cancelled surgery for tomorrow, I have to call Monday to find out when it is rescheduled.. I guess I\'m relieved.. :(
