What did you do first? Hubby and I were talking about when each of us got our first apartment after moving out of our parents houses. He said the first thing he did in his new place was drink milk out of the carton with the fridge door open. He always wanted to do it and his mother would kill him for even trying! the first thing I did was buy Strawberry jelly because my mother would always only buy grape. I even like grape better but I bought Strawberry just because I could! So, come on, and keep it clean bchgirl. What was the thing you did after moving out that made you a "grown up" |
I rent an appt and went to my mentor for a dog . |
Gosh it was so long ago I can't remember!! Teri, that was 33 years ago!! :eek: Really, I can't remember! :p It was probably have my friends over for a drinking party. My parents would never condone that, LOL! |
I can't say ....let's say ....I made it my own... :D and NO ..I didn't mark on the furniture ! |
When I moved in, I always thought about the scene in St Elmos Fire, where she says " Its my apartment, and if I wanna get up in the middle of the night and make a p/b/jelly sandwich I can.. I always thought that was cool, but ya know what I never did it.... I did however move in with my high school sweetheart at 20.. so you can pretty much guess what I did.. often. :eek: |

the first thing I did was stock up on Pague Sauce. My mom and grandmother refused to buy ready made sauce. My grandmothers recipe was way better then my moms but I can't see spending all that time on one person. My mom just about died when she came over and seen the jar of Pague. She said,, "I thouht you did didn't like pasta with sauce" I didn't have the heart to tell her "no it's just yours I don't like" |
I also can not remember as it was way too long ago, But one thing I did do was keep it clean! Something I didn't do at home!! ;) |
The first thing I did was stay out at a party till 7am :eek: and NOT have to call anyone because mom and dad thought I was asleep and preparing for class the next day :D Hey I was a good girl, even got my masters, but sometimes you need a wild night out with girlfriends (didn't do anything bad either) |

LOL I was NEVER allowed to do anything. Both parents were Police Officers, so I grew up with a bunch of NO No's. But the first thing I know I did, that they didn't like was, I hung up a bunch of posters, and had Black Lights. We had only Art on our walls at home, and posters, just wouldn't cut it. But everyone had posters, and black lights too. I don't know why I wanted them so bad, but I must have, because they were the first thing I bought. :D :D :D |

I went to the store and bought gatorade for everyone(myself, my boyfriend and his friend Chris) and then they went out and found some Shiner Bock(beer). |

I bought processed cheese and sugar cereal and ate them without anyone scolding me. My parents never allowed us to eat anything in our house that was "natural" or "real". Ahhhhhhh, adulthood, isn't it great???? |
oh, i've something to add.... i ate lunch at 2pm. ate dinner at 10pm. and skipped breakfast altogether!!! that's right! i'm an adult now! |
Let's see. I went from my parents, to my grandparents, to living with my husband before we got married. So I did anything I wanted(without going into details) before my stepsons came a month after I did. |
I'm going to have to say not make up my bed.... My mom always insisted that we make our beds when we first got up. Even now I sleep with just a comforter or blanket on top so all I have to do is shake it out and the bed is made!!! I also had some "Stewiesmom-sized" laundry piles back in the day!! :embarasse |
