Bad Bedside Manners! I have seen it in Veterinarians when I was a Vet Tech. But yesterday I got first hand experience with a specialist. I have been in constant pain for almost 2 months. I had all the required ultrasounds and tests. The Dr. told me he couldn't find anything wrong, END OF STORY! Don't get me wrong I'm Glad to know I don't have anything serious. But when he told me I was speechless. Otherwise I would have asked if their were further tests I could take...MRI? I expected him to say "Let me discuss this with my collegues" or "In the mean time let me prescribe something for the pain". But nothing, just there's the door Bye. I will request another referral to another specialist. But in the meantime I am self medicating myself with pain pills I had left over from a surgery. And am extremely frustrated! I'm sorry to bum out your evening, but I needed to vent. |
What kind of pain are you having? Abdominal, shoulders, knees, all over???? I had horrible searing pain in my back and shoulder blades that lasted for almost a year and none of the MD's, Orto guys, etc. could tell me what to do. My pharmacist (sp.)suggested that maybe it was arthritist. I saw a rheumatologist and she fixed me up pretty fast. Good thing too because it reoccur in the other shoulder. If your insurance will permit, you'll have to decide for yourself what your next step is. Good Luck and I'll be pulling for you. |

Maybe ask the surgeon to recommend another specialist or go to one of your own choosing. Know anybody who's had a hysterectomy that you could talk to? Maybe they could give you ideas about who to see. Don't give up! |
