My View On Cindy Adams On The View  Did anyone see Cindy Adams with her new yorkies yesterday? I am mortified. Her 1st Jazzy was killed or died at a boarding kennel! If Cindy was such a spoiling Mom why would she leave Jazzy at a kennel? I live momth to month and spoil my Ava. If i could go on vaca tion, I would know that a kennel would not be even be considered.Iused to love Cindy Adams & her 1st book. Now she has a 2nd book out:Spoiled yorkies!Any feedback would be appreciated. |
kennel Alot depends on the type kennel...I have seen some very exclusive places I could enjoy a stay in..Jazzy died from a viral illness of some sort picked up at the kennel..soem pet owners do not realize these illnesses can be picked up so easy..she no doubt paid a ton of money and thought it was a good place. I have taken care of alot of spoiled Yorkies for clients..get them away from their moms and they act like regular dogs..I have never meet a Yorkie I did not like.. One woman told me her Yorkie only drank ice water from a teacup..she was positive the dog would die if I did not offer her iced water every two hours from a cup..she even brought the dogs teacup. The dog drank out of any container I put water in..good thing Yorkies cannot talk. LOL |

There's a new twist on the teacup Yorkie. I'm sure she thought Jazzy would be safe. And if you have the money like she does there are some pretty amazing kennels out there. There are places where the dogs can have their own rooms with beds (like a hotel a human would stay in) and are monitored by video 24/7 when not being pampered and played with. |
MY respect left when she bragged her 2 new yorkies wore real fur coats...any animal lover would be buying Faux fur.... but her yorkies were just adorable :) |
I thought the piece on Today was sweet. You could really tell she loved her Yorkies, Jazzy and Juicy. I think it's always clear in hindsight what we did wrong .. lots of people kennel their dogs and some kennels have gotten really nice (although I'm not sure I could do it myself). I wish Cindy and her pups all the best! Lis |
Before jumping to judgement...I suggest that you read her books...she very reluctantly let Jazzy go with the handlers(they knew Jazzy well because they owned the doggy daycare where he played with his dog friends every Thursday) and they took him that weekend to their home in upstate NY because a series of unavoidable events had made that necessary...then the northeast experienced a multi state blackout that weekend and she tried to get in touch with the kennel and when she did she was told he was fine. The next call she recieved was that he was bleeding profusely so she rushed by car to try and meet them on the highway but the traffic was at a standstill...so it was really one thing after the other...she had never left the dogs with a kennel but she felt it was okay because Jazzy was comfortable with the handlers...He died in the car before reaching Cindy Adams and she later found out that it was e.coli poisoning. It totally devestated her because she had really made this dog the center of her life. You don't have to like her but don't trash her love for her dog....in that respect she is just like you. |
:thumbdown I read her first book. Although I don't doubt she loved Jazzy very much, she was terribly misguided in the way she trained (or rather did NOT train) him. Frankly, he was a little brat, but it was not his fault. She would get upset when he would pee in the house, but she never did anything to train him. How was he supposed to know what to do???? Instead of enjoying the book, I got annoyed at her and then at myself for spending the money. :thumbdown |
I never left my babies (big or small) in a kennel until we moved to Illinois. I heard so many great things about Heidane's Hideway Bed and Barkfest that I checked it out. It is wonderful! All the staff are animal lovers and it is very clean and each dog or cat gets individual time everyday. I pay $5 more each day for an additional "individual" time. I feel so comfortable with Betty and her staff there. Betty requires vet certificates of all vaccinations before she will board your animal. also, when Scruffy (RIP) first went there, he was blind and old, and Betty's husband built a step especially for him so he could go outside easier! Isn't that sweet??? They also get groomed while they are there, and they get a report card with info on when they ate, peed and pooped everyday! :D |

http://www.cozyinnpetresort.com/ I never knew places like this existed before I got dogs :) I take Max and Abbie there for grooming and everyone is fabulous however I've not boarded them there because I try to take them with me everywhere I go and I'm still uncomfortable leaving them. |

I did see her the other day on TV, I was going to get her books, but after watching her I really have no intrest in reading them. I do wonder why someone would buy their furbabies real furs, and spoil them with just about any thing a furbaby could dream of, but not take care of their teeth. She said on TV, they only have nine teeth. Now I know, Yorkies have a hard time with their teeth, they need special care. You would think with all the money she has to spend, their dental health would come first. Think about this, Have you ever had a toothache? Well I have, it hurts! They may have Nannys, special beds, and tons of toys, but they are in pain because they have bad teeth. She was the one who said she just spent $900 for dental cleaning, because they had bad breath. So my guess is they have been in pain a very long time. And I think that's sad. JMO :) |
I saw her the other day, and her little ones were adorable! While I've never read her books, I've seen her website... Jazzy's Website |
