Weird Cravings? (While Pregnant) I just saw Shana's thread about that new drink that tasted like pickle's & watermelon juice & it made me think of this! :D While you were pregnant what was your weirdest craving? I really didn't have anything too crazy, but I did crave macaroni & cheese mixed w/ tuna. :p |
Baby #1 I craved Mexican food, Baby #2 Chili's fajitas, salad from Olive Garden, Baby #3 Krispy Kreme donuts and McDonald's cheeseburgers. Oh yeah, and with #3 I gained 60 pounds so I definitely don't recommend those cravings! Along with eating about everything else in sight! |
OH Fun! With my first son I craved crunching on ice cubes, I couldn't live without a big cup of ice cubes at my desk all day in my last trimester. Which was really wierd for me cause I hate to chew on ice cubes otherwise. The moment he was born that went away instantly. Oh and milk and mashed potatoes too. With my second son MUSTARD!!! I couldn't get enough. I would send my husband to Subway and made him tell the sandwich maker to just keep squirting that stuff on. If I wasn't afraid my husband and Subway would think I was way too wierd, I would have just asked for a mustard sandwich. LOL :D |
Too funny! Mustard! It's weird that the minute you give birth all those cravings go away! I ate cereal & milk everyday & I can't even stand to look at a box of cereal now! Oh & if I ever see a bottle of tums or caffeine free diet pop I think I would puke! haha! :D |

Now every time I drive by Krispy Kreme I want to puke! |
I had the same cravings with all 3 of my kids. Crushed ice, lemons, anything sour, And the most weird one, laundry detergent or any other powdered cleaner. I would wake up with my mouth watering for my fix of A-jax. I would pour a pile in my hand, add a few drops of water and smoosh it and smell it. And with the laundry detergent, I would have a small box with the scooper next to me bed. I would get a scoop full and hold it up about 6in and pour it back in the box so I can smell the dust. It's a wonder my kids came out ok. LOL I try and do that now and I sneeze and gag. But when pregnant I just loved it and had to have it. |
This is my first pregnancy, and funny thing is, i haven't had cravings for anything like pickle juice and watermelons or anything.. but i do crave for fettucine alfredo and steak a lot.. oh and i LOVE anything sour :) that's about it.. i'm so glad that i haven't vomitted :) i'm a lucky on i guess.. i did have nausea.. and fatigue (i get short of breath a lot though) and my back aches :( have any of you had really terrible symptoms during pregnancy? |

Xtine, you should be glad you're not craving!! Midnight rides to the store for sauerkraut and peanut butter could put a dent in your beauty sleep!! Congratulations on your pregnancy. I hope all goes well for you! Do you know what you're going to have? Or I guess I should say, do you want to know or be surprised? |

so i wasn't the only one!!!! With my 1st (a girl)I couldnt get enough of ice cubes...luckily a friend owns a pub with ice machine so she gave me them by the bucketful which im sure ruined my teeth  Also fried egg and mushroom and mayonaise sandwiches. With my 2nd (a boy) nothing... felt too sick all the way thru could only eat Rice crispies but i certainly didnt crave them it was the only thing i could stomach  |
Well with both of mine I threw up the whole first five months!! If I was awake I was puking - no fun!! Then I couldn't get enough mexican food with my daughter!! I especially loved guacamole, I had never tried it before I was pregnant with her and couldn't get enough!! I loved to take their mozzerella cheesticks and dip them in guacamole and salsa!! It's wonder she didn't come out green!! With my son it was hot dogs and chicken - pretty tame compared to her. :D |
My first pregnancy I craved milk. I would eat cereal, drink hot chocolate, and drink chocolate milk. Both pregnancies I chewed Ice. |
Ha ha ha...I had some wierd ones. It seems like the further along I got, the wierder they got. It started off with Taco Bell Enchiritos, then moved to Vinegar and Salt Chips and Cherry Icees. Then phase 2 was the time of Cocoa Crispies...like, every meal, a box a day! Towards the end, things got a little odd. I craved ice (due to lower iron, I was told). Not soft, half melted ice--ANY ice. To the point that I would munch on it until my toungue would go numb and actually bleed! I also LOVED the way odd things smelled...like magic markers and the tire section at Wal-Mart and mostly new carpet? My husband had gotten new car mats that had a strong, new carpet smell and I would just go sit in his truck smelling them and eating ice! :p Could have been worse...I had a friend that craved dirt (yes, dirt) when she was pregnant! |
I craved things in spurts, for two weeks it was bacon then it was spinich, then nacho cheese, then slice & bake cookies. I craved mashed potatoes mixed with corn for about a month. They seemed to change often! The odd thing was I had an aversion to chicken, raw or cooked. I had to ban chicken from the house. If I saw it or smelt it or if someone even said chicken then I would throw up. My (x) husband tried to sneak chicken into the house and shoved it way back in the freezer... I found it, it was'nt pretty!!! I can eat chicken now but the first time I ate it after I delivered Mia was pretty scary. I was scared that I was going to puke on everyone!!! |
