How do you get a 10 month old to stop spitting???? Mia will not stop spitting :dribble: ! I :idontknow how she learned this but she loves it. Sometimes she will take a huge bite of her food just so she can spit it out all over the place. It is not confined to eating, she spits when ever the mood strikes her! How did my sweet little girl :angel2dl: turn into a spitting machine :dribble: ?!?!?! Anyone got any advice on how to stop her... I'll try anything! She spit at a lady in Target today, let's just say the lady was not amused! HELP!!!! |
Sorry, babies are just like that! I think it starts out as cute and gets out of hand quickly. Try not to make too much fuss, make a angry face and say 'no'. Watch out for biting next. I remember when my son was about that age my neighbors son was a month older and was biting. Billy started like 'blowing farts' on my knee. It was so cute and my neighbor said that is how his son started biting. Boy did I put a quick halt to that 'cute' behaviour. |
Try not to make an issue of it just clear up the mess without saying anything, if she does not get any reaction from you she will stop. At ten month its all new and fun. Good luck. |
LOL ! ....I'm not laughing. Really I'm not..... lol..... I agree with everyone else - do NOT react. The more reaction they get the more they do things like that. lol I'm still not laughing I promise :ladywinks |
I Agree :yeahthat: I agree with everyone else... I used to baby set and the little boy would toss his toys at me. I would not react well unless one hit me.. then he got a time out till his parents got home. |
Put tape over their mouth. Just kidding! My daughter used to give me raspberries constantly and I thought it was so cute and funny at first but it got out of hand and for some reason strangers didn't find it as funny as me. So I would just ignore it and after a while the novelty wore off. I love that age! |

And as much as you might be mortified right now, I would suggest you write it into her baby book or diary! Believe it or not, one day you will look back and love it! Billy also threw these really horrible tantrums at the store at times around 3. It was horrible and embarrasing. He is now 18, but I saw(and heard) a little girl doing this the other day, (I honestly can't remember ever seeing or hearing anyone as bad as Billy). It was so nostalgiac, brought tears to my eyes. |
:yelrotflm Maybe a mixed breed ..part lama ..rofl ... :wavey:A Yorkalama  I hear they are a rare breed ..very valued for the spitting |

We did talk about it on the way home and I'm SURE it will never happen again though! But you never know what's going to come out of their mouths in public! |
See! It could be worse! I'll bet that lady would have been more aggrevated it your yorkie spit on her! |
You guys are funny... Just to clear something up... Mia is my daughter I have been ignoring the spitting but it makes her do it even more, she trys so hard to get a rise out of me! She bit me once, she got into so much trouble that she has never attempted it again. But she does pinch..... |
If you just ignore it, she will stop. But then again she might find something worse to do. It's just a baby thing, they all do it. This is a hard age for them to understand some things are not funny to everyone. Hmmm, I wonder what she will do when she turns two. Good luck to you!!!! :) :) :) :) |
Did we ever answer the "how to teach a 10 month old to blow their own nose?"..... I don't know about the spitting. I'm sorry...Children are pretty gross... My youngest for some reason stuck a blue marker up her nose...yesterday....(Open of course.) She's way too old for that, but none the less...did it... and produced some mighty interesting results... You'd think blue right? You'd be wrong.. I try to remind myself that they are just :littleang s PS...I do NOT recommend you stick a blue marker up your kids nose to see... Bren :fallen: |
