Do you drive & Talk? Do you drive and talk on your cell phone at the same time? I just went to the store, and I can't tell you how many people I saw on their phones!!!! I wouldn't not have noticed if this girl didn't almost hit me. She almost went right passed the Stop Sign.   I for one don't drive & talk. I do have my phone out, but I pull over if it rings just incase it's one of my kids. BUT I don't know, it should be a law not to talk and drive. A few months ago a lady got hit because the girl didn't see her. How could she not, she was walking across the street. Just makes me so mad, that people can be that careless. |
I do...but it's on rare occasion. I agree. I've had several near misses from people talking on the phone and not paying attention!!!! GRRRRRR! |
im with you gina, i pull over to talk on the phone... |
I only talk to myself. My cell phone is not turned on....don't call me...I'll call you ;) |
I am guilty of sometimes talking while driving, but not too often. It's actually against the law to do it in my city. |
Sometime to amuse or PO myself ,I watch and it is usually every or every other car someone is driving and talking, I always think WHAT did these people do before cell phones? How did they survive? Since they are on them non stop. What really IRKs me it the ones in the stores or grocery shopping,, " Do we need milk?, do we need bread? What kind? " Blah, blah Blah,, I wanna scream " make a list before you leave the house." |

Yeah, I'll admit I do it. But I can drive! I don't think it's any different than driving and talking to someone in the car. At least I don't have to turn my head to make eye contact! I also eat breakfast in the car every day. I've never caused an accident. In fact the only one I've had in 30 years is when a guy ran a red light and hit me. (And I wasn't even the first one to go through the green) I don't call anyone because dialing would be dangerous, but if my phone rings I will answer it. |

Had someone call and complain about one of my employees driving and talking on his cell phone. Guess where the complainer called from.....his cell phone. As a side note, when I get employee complaints from people I don't know....my usual response is Ok, I'll fire them. Disclaimer....I am not a smarta$$ to complainers with serious complaints. But the lady who called me from Target's parking lot cause my employee was rude....you're fair game lady. What he's AT Target? No problem, he's fired. I'm their employer not their mother....... |

Just another reason people in Missouri are out to get Heather  |
I don't usually talk on my cell when I drive, but if I do I use my hands free device and it is only for a minute or two. I see people all the time on the phone when they are driving and most of them I had to hunk at to get their attention so they don't hit me and sometimes that does not even work. |

I rarely use the cell phone while driving. My Husband is a courier and uses his all day. |

Im guitly I have my phone on 24/7 and I use it while driving but I have my ear piece on and I have voice dialing on my phone so I virtually dont have to look at the phone unless I get a text message then I look but other then that nope... I would be lost w/o it b/c I have 3 small kids and it never fails if I leave the house w/o it something happens. But Im very caucious(sp) when I use it. |
Yes, I do sometimes when I am driving in the suburbs. It is illegal to talk and drive in Chicago proper. I got rearended in my brand new car by a "kid" who was talking on his phone in his brand new car. I reamed him and kept going. Women are far better at talking and driving than men. I think it's OK as long as you aren't having a serious or emotional conversation. |

My Yukon has a built in phone with speaker in the console on the ceiling between the two seats in front. All you have to do is push a button to answer a call and it turns down the radio and everything for you - pretty cool and yes, alittle lazy, but very safe. I have used my other phone though on occassion if I am in my husband truck, but I use the speaker feature on it most of the time or the hands free set or sometimes I pull over - it just depends. I have seen people swerving all over the place and when I finally can pass them, they are on their phone - course, I have seen this happening when people are driving and putting on their makeup, reading (yes, reading and driving) or doing something else - CRAZY!!! |
In New Jersey,it is against the law to talk on a hand held cell phone. You can talk as long as your phone is on speaker or you have on a headset. :) Some people ignore the law and I have almost been hit 3 times by women on their phones. :thumbdown |
I talk on my bluetooth headset if i'm ever on the phone while driving, that was because I was driving stick shift and i hated shifting, turning a corner and talking/laughing at the same time. but i mean there are some people that can multi-task. i've learned to do this because as a nurse you've got to multi-task! but people that cannot drive and talk at the same time should either invest in a headset or just pull over or not talk on the phone at all! I think Talking on a cellphone is like talking to a passenger in your car. I talk to whoever's riding with me with NO problems, i don't see how it's different (maybe holding the actual phone).. but i don't know.. Its sad to see a lot of car accidents because of cellphone users who cannot drive responsibly and talk at the same time. |
I am guilty of talking on my phone with driving ALL THE TIME. I'm so bad, it's like the minute I start my car my cell phone is on my ear. It's really the only time I have to talk to people since I lead a very busy life but I know it is no excuse. Actually, Washington State is trying to pass a law in January 2007 for it to be illegal to talk and drive unless you have a earbud. Both hands need to be used on the wheel while driving. I guess I am going to have to purchase another bluetooth headset so I can still talk (I returned my last one.....I hated it). Such is life I guess. Oh, btw, I can drive quite well while on the phone. |
Only on an odd occaision and always on hands free |
