I'll share a toad story...please do not report me to PETA....we used to put fire crackers in their mouths. Frogs apparently don't have a spit it out reflex...know what's left of Mr Frog after... absolutely....nothing. Sometimes we had them smoke cigerettes we sneaked out of my dad's pack. Or another favorite frog torture...we'd place them in a circle of pine straw, light it on fire and sing....(in our best Johnny Cash voice) (bold here for baritone)I fell into the burnin' ring of fire, went down, down, down, and the flames went higher' and it burns burns burns....that ring of fire... Just dawned on me...not only did we torture frogs...we were pyromaniacs to boot. A disclaimer....my parent's did not approve of frog torture nor paying with matches ;) PS Frogs will not flap their legs if thrown either :) I am going to h-ll surrounded by the ghosts of frogs....... |

Yep, she's covered in WARTS...that's where everyone says they come from  |
I had a terrible childhood growing up. This lady who'd babysit me would torture me. I remember one time I refused to eat my food and she stripped me completely naked and locked me outside of her house for an hour. Remembering this still brings tears to my eyes. I was only 5 years old. She would also threaten me with a huge butcher knife if I ever told my parents. It was horrible. |

A friend had a really crappy childhood...she swore to herself....if she ever had children....she was not going to be the mother she had. Ya know, if someone did something like that to me....if they were still alive when I grew up...I'd pay them a visit....it would not be a pleasant reunion either  |

We never, ever ate any of them. OMG, just remembered...my dad used to fix frog legs...so I guess we did  I will have to edit my disclaimer....my father didn't believe in frog torture....'cept apparently taking their legs off. They jump around in the pan, btw ;) |

Yes and it's so unfortunate that so many kids out there are still being mistreated. I also promised myself to be a good mother when the time comes. That lady really messed me up. I till this day do not feel fully recovered. I am so insecure with everything and also have a huge trust issue. There are probably a hundred more things that's she's done to me that are totally wrong and i know if i start recollecting everything, i'll just break down and cry. my throat is already starting to get tight as i'm typing this. |

I'm so sorry it's still so hard....the effects last long after the abuse :( And another sad part...someone probably did this stuff to her too. Adults are supposed to protect children....always, period. |

Another frog story....in the ditch down the street...were thousands of tad poles....we scooped up tons...took them home....mom (who was crazy apparently)....let us put them in an aquarium in the laundry room. Being kids after a couple of days...we forget all about our tadpole pets...didn't check on them anymore....mom did, by default...opened that laundry room door and there were FROGS all over the place  |
Hey Deb did you notice that the guys sure arent telling their good memories of their childhood! They are too afraid to tell us women about holding their sisters down and chopping off all of her hair!!! |
That tadpole pet story reminds me..... My mother would let us have ANY pet we ever wanted. We had.... a parrokeet, 2 aquariums, 6 turtles, a dog, a cat, a guinea pig, and a hamster...plus 12 hunting dogs...ALL at the same TIME. If we'd had more land she'd let us have the whole farm :) And she loved all these things as much as we did ;) Even the mouse looking ones. Btw, one of those aquariums...my baby brother got a toy set one year...with real miniature tools...no fake plastic here ;) He sawed the table leg off the end table, took the saw away, nailed something into the TV, no more hammer, little screwdriver....scrapped the back door w/ that sucker....any way....only thing left was a wooden mallet and the measuring tape. He took that mallet and whacked the side of the aquariums....didn't shattered...made a nice round hole in the side. Fishies pouring out by the gallons  He's real good at measuring stuff now though :D |

Your brothers did THAT   Holy, cats!!! Did give my brother a trim once...he let me ;) Disclaimer...I did not become a professional hair dresser :D |
Has just occurred to me.....the reason my parents only had 3 children instead of 6....was us. They just couldn't take any more dang kids :D |
