Is it carpel tunnel? My left wrist is KILLING me today. And I am right-handed so I think this is sorta wierd. But my left wrist really hurts and it has sort of a throbbing ache and the fingers twitch a little bit. That hand tingles too. What is this? Is it the beginning of carpel tunnel? Ive had occasional pains in my right hand from sewing or being on the comptuer all day but I have never had throbbing pains like this that I can remember. Just wondered if anyone has anything similar to this and can point me in the right direction of how to get rid of it. Thanks :) |
It sounds like carpal tunnel to me. Wheneverr i have pain like that I put ben gay on put a healing magnet on it and wrap it real tight. |

I don't have any personal experience, But I've heard there should also be tingling. Maybe someone else knows more. |
Yea if you google healing magnets you can find companies that sell them. I swear they work. I have one for my back and whenever I have bad pain there I tighten it real tight on there and it helps the pain go away. I got one for my mother in law that has carpal tunnel and also hip problems and she loves it. You can find some at some pharmacies too. |

thanks I am going to check it out. |
Shana....I had CT BAD ! I went years before I did anything and the doctor told me if it was so severe that IF I had kept waiting.... I could have atrophied the tendons in my hands......My hands were asleep or aching ALL the time. I had surgery on both hands and WHAT A HUGE DIFFERENCE ! It will start interfering with your sleep - your hands will go totally numb just shampooing your hair or putting on Makeup. When ever you raise your arms they'll just turn numb. and it's just a very uncomfortable feeling 24/7 when it gets bad.... Right now - yours sounds mild - you can get the brace to try at night but if it gets bad....surgery is needed.... and the surgery is SO worth it. |
I have the mild kind, it's bad in the morning and when I sleep, like now, I'm tingly and sorta numb, I wear a brace at night, sometimes, when it wakes me up, being totally numb. There are mornings I can't WIPE! I have to wait awhile cause I can't hold toothbrush or put makeup on.. Might wanna go get checked and get a brace, or you can buy those wrist braces at drugstores and see if it helps it. |

I have been thinking about checking into surgery, But I've heard stories of people having it done and being worse than before, but I have heard plenty of sucess stories too, of course I focus on the negative ones. It really hasn't been that bad lately, but I think I will check into it. |
It literally changed my life. I mean that. When they did the test on my hands the dr. had to redo it .....mine were so bad I was at the most severe end of the test - which is painless. I did one hand at a time and WOW what a huge difference. and GOOD luck with your other surgery - that's pretty painless too. |
I have similar problems if I work a lot. My office is so cold and I have poor circulation so I think that's part of it. I go in for a massage once a week to help my back and while I'm there I'll have her do my hands if they hurt. The increased circulation seems to really help. |
OMG! Now you all have me freaked out. I think I too need to get to the doctor. My wake up all the time and both my hands are numb. And I do hair, and there are times when I am round brushing someone's hair and I can no longer turn the brush and they go numb. I know, I know...I have just been putting off going to the doctor about it, because I am scared of the surgery. I too have heard soooo many horror stories. And I LOVE my job and can't imagine not doing hair! I know its bad for me, but I am in denial. Heck, they are falling asleep now.... :( When it hurts real bad I just take Tylenol Artritus---it helps sooo much with the pain. But I think its time for me to go to the doctor! Thanks Shana, Villette and Rhonda--thanks for making me open my eyes. |

It is NOT a scary procedure at all.....all surgery has risks...but I can say from experience that this is one surgery I am so happy I had. I probably wouldn\'t typing this if I didn\'t get mine fixed. It was horrible. |
Sounds like it to be. I would go in and be seen. My Sister-In-Law has it. She waited too long, and was in so much pain. She\'s doing better, but had to have surgery. I know it hurts, you could see the pain in her face. It wouldn\'t hurt to have it checked out. Wish you the best. |
