Carrying handguns? Did you see where there trying to pass that ppl can legally wear handguns on them here in Kansas. It will have to be registered but you can wear them. Im not real sure how I feel about that!!  |
Hmm.. That is a little scary! We have a thing here called a licence to carry. You go take a class if you want to carry a gun, and if you pass everything they give you your license to carry a handgun. I think they make sure you are not a murderer first. Hopefully! I don't think that this is a good idea just because there are so many crazies out there!!! LOL :D I think that you should have to pass several tests before being alowed to do this. Background, criminal, etc.. Hopefully they will reconsider! |
In Texas, you allowed to carry a handgun if you have a consealed weapons permit for it. |

Bear arms is one thing, it's when we give them to the idiots thats bad! I couldn't imagine! You may have to get your own to ward all the idiots away! LOL |
Pretty much every state allows people to carry a gun if they have a concealed weapons permit...What is way scarrier in my opinion than this is the law in Florida that basically is a "shoot now ask questions later law." People there can shoot and kill people in "self defense" now with only a reasonable belief they could be in danger. Yes, folks that means that in Florida people no longer need to make an attempt to escape a potentially dangerous situation or use force less than deadly force...You no longer even need to be attacked just feel threatened and you can blow someone away...This is by far more frightening in my opinion... |

Scary. Scary. Scary. I wonder what would happen in the murder capitol of the country if we had such laws. I'm sure our murder rate woudl triple. |
Nearly every jurisdiction allows you to stand your ground and shoot in your own home, this is called the "castle rule" The difference here is that Florida you can now do this in public!!! That is a huge expansion, and in my humble opinion a scarry one. Suppose I vacation in Florida and someome feels threatened by the way I look at them, the law may protect their right to blow my head off!!! |

conceal and carry We'll I live in Amish country and it is nothing to see a group of men walking down the road with guns in tote. Its just an evyday thing here, so its not to scary for me. My husband has a conceal and carry permit and I am going to get one to. I have never shot a gun but I figured if we are going to have one in the house I better learn. |
Please believe me, if someone comes into my house and I have the chance, they will have a big hole in them before they leave. I don't care if they had anything on them or not...not if they are in my house!!! |
My husband had a permit to carry a concealed handgun. He's a deer hunter and in Texas there are lots of wild hogs. It's dangerous if you are walking to your stand or stalking a deer and a hog comes up on you and charges. So, he got his permit so that he could carry his handgun to shoot hogs, if necessary (it's kinda hard to shoot a charging hog with a rifle). They do have to go through extensive training, shooting in front of instructors, take a test, and background checks. He let his license expire because now that he has health problems, he has to ride the 4-wheeler to the stand and will no longer be stalking any deer!!! |
Kennesaw, GA Here is an excerpt from the Gun Ownership Requirement in Kennesaw, GA STILL THE LAW IN KENNESAW Times change, but world famous Second Amendment statement remains in place after 20 years. Jim Galloway - Staff Sunday, July 15, 2001 "... every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefor." EXCERPT FROM 1982 KENNESAW ORDINANCE, SEC. 34-1 John Nunez and his family moved to Kennesaw from New Jersey nine months ago. Friends and relatives rib the sales manager about whether he's complied with the city's famous ordinance. Does he own a gun? "No," he said. "Does a water pistol count?" It's not a matter of philosophy, Nunez said. He likes handguns. But he has three kids in the house under the age of 5. The gun law heard 'round the world has entered its 20th year. It still reads the same: The head of every household in Kennesaw must have a firearm and ammunition. Unless he or she doesn't want to. But little else has stood still. The little town of 7,000 has exploded into a city of 22,000. The young, personable mayor who ordered up the gun law abruptly vanished. |
I really don't see a problem with this as long as you have had some training. I personally have had the training & I do carry concealed & I have a carrying permit. The classes let you know what you can & cannot do with the handgun, and in PA, as far as just being able to shoot someone that breaks into your home, that is NOT the case, you must give the intruder a chance to leave, and only as a last resort, should you shoot. And if they are leaving, they are no longer a considered a threat to you & if you were to shoot them in the back, YOU will be the one getting into trouble. I would recommend the classes, in PA you dont have to have classes, they teach you alot. Desiree |
