Need everyone's prayers My sister-in-law has been hospitalized yet again. She is suffering from Anorexia and from what she tells me whenever she eats anything at all that it will not stay down no matter how hard she tries. Of course she lives in WV so I haven't seen her since Thanksgiving but I try to talk to her several times a week. This is the second time she has been hospitalized in the last 3 or 4 months. My mother-in-law called last night and told my husband that she won't keep the IV's in that she is pulling them out. I think until she gets to where she is not doing that, that maybe they should restrain her. I don't know. I've tried to be really supportive of her and try to keep her confidience up. When I talked to her yesterday morning before she went into the hospital. She had been to her doctor and he finally after weeks of seeing her told her that if something wasn't done she was going to die. She finally broke down and told him she knew that she would and agreed to go into the hospital for IV's and additional testing. I know her system is completely messed up she keeps diahrreah(sp) so whenever she does eat she either looses it by vomiting or diahrreah. Needless to say we are all extremely worried about her. Depending on how long she is in the hospital for we may be making a trip to WV to see her. I'm not sure what to believe as far as her eating because, she can really manipulate you to believe what she want's you to believe. She hasn't been able to put any weight on in months. She is about 5'10 and barely weighs 100 lbs maybe a little more or less I don't know. Here doctor had her to raise her shirt up and he told her, her ribs stuck out really bad that she reminded him of concentration camp victims. Anyway sorry for rambling I'm just really worried about her. I'm closer to her that I am my own sister. Just had to vent. |
I am so sorry! I don't know much about this disease, but it can be treated and takes a very long time. I think first, she has to come to terms with it and really, really want help! We will keep you all in our prayers! Please keep us updated. |

I'm starting to know more than I really want to. She has admitted to me that she has a problem and she just admitted yesterday to the doctor. I told my husband that this is just llike someone going through rehab that you can't do anything for them until they ask. Thanks. My mother-in-law is going today to see her so, I will keep everyone posted. |

She does. She told me yesterday that she doesn\'t want to die and she knows in her heart that if she doens\'t get this under control and soon that there is a good chance that she will. But, she still sees herself as fat. |
Oh my, We will keep her in our Thoughts & Prayers. Hang in there, It\'s really hard I know, the girl down the street is the same way. I feel really bad for her family. I really hope she gets the help she needs. Please keep us posted. |
I send you hugs, Sheila, so you can pass them on to her. She really needs them and you right now. |
I am so sorry her that your sister-in-law has this horrible disorder. I went thru the same thing with my best friend. The only way that she will survive is if she wants to and wants the help, but it very hard just like any other addiction. The reason why she is gets so sick when she does eat is because her body is not use to having food. She is basically straving herself which is very sad and stressfull on her loved ones. I hope the doctors at the hospital she is at has informed her that she needs therapy and medical treatment to help fight this horrible thing. I will keep her and your family in my thoughts and prayers. This I believe is one the hardest things to live thru. But please give her all the support and love that you can give, God knows she will need it. Please let you know that there are support groups made up of girls that have the same illness and are there for her if she needs help and support. Good Luck and God Bless!!!! |
I\'m so sorry to hear this. Anorexia is such a difficult disease. My thoughts and prayers are with your sister-in-law. |
I will keep her in my prayers! |
I\'m so sorry. I\'m glad that she\'s in the hospital. The hardest part is admitting she has a problem and it seems she has so thats a great first step. My thoughts are with you. |
