Ok all you computer/photo savvy people..I have a question... I have a TON of pics saved on my computer. I need to get them off as it is slowing it down WAY to much. So I usually upload the best ones onto a photo hosting site..but I also need to save them all to disc. what is the best way to do taht? Like which discs are better for this? CD-R CD-RW DVD-R DVD-RW ??????? Thanks!! |
You can just burn them to a CDR. The only difference between CDRs and CDRW's is that RWs can be written over. With photos you don't want to write over them of course, so CDRs will do just fine. I'm not sure about what you can do with DVDs but I know CDs will hold a lot of pics. That's what I do with mine when I take them off of my hard drive. But before you do, organize them. Put them in folders by month or date or event or whatever so they'll be easier to find when you come back looking for a specific pic. |
Thanks! CDR it is then :) I have almost all of them in albums. I do an album a month, then i have like a xmas album, an album for when we went to NJ, etc..... So now I have to check..do I have to click on each pic individually, or can I like save the whole album and every pic in that album will be saved? I am so computer illiterate at times! LOL |

wish me luck..lol |
Also...just another option. If you don't want to do it yourself you can upload all your pics to wal-mart.com & then order prints, cds, or whatever else you want & have it mailed to your home or you can pick them up at the store. I've done that before because I can't figure out how to save them to the cd! :p :D |
How to you get them off your desktop? |

What do you mean? Like folders or actually your background/screensaver? |
Just do a "right click" and "Send To" which ever drive you CD burner is in. Make sure you put a CD-R in the CD burner. |
Or the program that you use to burn your CDs should ask what files to add. You then browse and add all of the files that you want to be on the CD. Its a good idea burn your images to a CD on a regular basis just in case your computer crashes. Much easier (and cheaper!) than trying to get them retrieved later. |
